FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm constantly reading and learning.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Perhaps it was genetics: my father was a very successful marketing consultant before he retired and one of my sisters is in marketing also. So it seems to run in the family. But on a personal level, it kind of just happened. I was an English major who did a copywriting internship, then got into graphic design. I worked my way up to an Art Director position, then got bored with that and went back to copywriting. Then I got bored with that and moved to the business side of marketing. Hardly a smooth or focused career path, but one that has allowed me explore a lot of interests and get a wide range of experience.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I took over managing a Google Adwords campaign for my client and dramatically improved the conversion rate by creating and testing new landing pages. What I've learned is that most SEM agencies are focused on the Adwords side of the equation: But what distinguishes me is that I understand how absolutely critical the landing pages are for accomplishing a customer's goals. And because of my copywriting skills, combined with my design and web development abilities, I can work on that part of the equation in addition to the Adwords management.
