Dennis showed up in time and a bit early and worked very well on hanging our Christmas lights and removing them. He came over and made me three short hand rails for my stairs and installed them. Then he removed cardboard and paper for recycling from our move. i recommend Dennis for this type of work.

Ron and Thomas helped me move from Queen Anne to Wallingford yesterday. They were great once they got the job started. But there were a few hiccups - Ron showed up an hour late expecting his crew to have started the job. Turned out the crew couldn't pick up the truck without Ron, and Ron needed a check from me in order to pick up the truck. By the time they sorted everything out and came back with a truck they were 2.5 hours late. Furthermore, I was misquoted for the price. But Ron was an honest man and honored the really low price he misquoted me, and I ended up giving them an 80% tip, which hopefully made up for it. Communication beforehand was adequate but not great, probably how the misquoting happened. A phone confirmation a few days before the move would have been helpful. All in all it was a good experience, Ron did a good job with the move, they took great care while moving my stuff and wrapped my furniture with protective padding. There were a few small scratches but that's inevitable with any move. Nonetheless, they were very efficient and finished the job before the estimated time, and took the time to assemble furniture for me. It took them 15 minutes to put together my bed, which would have taken me a couple hours if I was doing it by myself. It was a hot sunny day, they were sweating hard but never slowed down or complained. Very efficient and professional. It's a new company so there are a few wrinkles to iron out. But I would definitely hire them again.

Eric mounted a flat screen TV over our fireplace. He showed up on time and got the job done quickly. He also adjusted a hanging light on his way out the door. I highly recommend Eric and will use him in the future.

If you want a job done thoroughly the first time and work with someone who is responsive and honest...Amin is your man!!! Amin has done many jobs for us, from installing new light fixtures, TV mounts on wall, Fan installation on ceiling, hanging paintings etc. etc. I have worked with many handymen over the years.....I've never seen anyone respond as quickly and completely to my questions either via email or phone. I will never call anyone else! Save yourself time and money....call Amin! He'll get the job done right, the first time! Attaching some pictures of the work he did. Thanks! Jay

Travis was excellent and detailed enough. He had the patience to figure out what would be better for me and helped me mount the TV on wall. The other thing i noticed is - He erased all the pencil marks that were made to mark the locations. That means he wanted his work to be neat. I would recommend Travis to many folks.

Pat was excellent! I had 7 pictures to hang, curtains to install, a wood carving for the wall, and shelves and he made it all look fantastic. Not only can he do the handy man stuff, but he has a great eye for how to hang art. Definitely recommend.

Excellent. Was able to handle many different needs - fixing a closet spring, a door, mounting a tv, building a bookcase, hanging a curtain, etc. Great attitude too and very efficient. Even gave us good input for where to arrange our living room furniture and hang coat racks!!

Daniel did great work for me! In 4.5 hours he analyzed a shot motor on my existing fan, assembled and installed a new lighted ceiling fan, replaced batteries in smoke detectors in all 4 levels of my house, analyzed a broken door lock, repaired a dining room chair, hung 2 pictures, and advised me not to hang a 3d which had mold problems. He will return next week to continue on my lengthy list of household repairs.

We needed the deck on our rental home repaired and re-surfaced and Raul did a great job for us . He was timely, communicated with us throughout the process, took before, during and after pictures to document his progress, and cleaned the worksite thoroughly when done. We were very happy with his work and will use his services in the future.

Kurt Krinke is the handyman I’ve hired on four different projects with excellent results. A third party told me he was good. That was an understatement. His work is neat, precise, and done with the care for the client. Before beginning he arranged a schedule and outlined his charges. He arrived promptly. The first project was the installation of an Allure Resilient Vinyl floor in the kitchen. Kurt described pattern options, how the difference in the new material would affect the replacement of the molding, and the way he would work. His experience showed in the methodical way he worked, with attention to detail, and virtually no wasted material…one piece left over. The floor is beautiful, adding visual warmth to the room. An excellent job in just few hours. The second was a minor remodel of a laundry compartment in a bathroom. The size of a new washer and dryer required re-hanging or replacing a pair of sliding doors. Kurt’s initial approach appeared to match my ideas. However, I changed my mind, and Kurt was accepting of that. When he returned with materials, he had chosen tasteful, functional hardware which turned the half-day, creative project into a neat, convenient, pleasant-looking laundry area. Project three: a pantry built into a wall between studs with a door left over from project two. Kurt listened carefully to the idea, but before making any suggestions he took several measurements and scanned the wall for any hidden problems. His approach again was imaginative, and with pad in hand, he drew a sketch of what he would recommend and why. Kurt made sure the door-swing would be handy and miss the ceiling fixture. He purchased suitable materials and finished the project in a day. Even though the work had to be done in the house in cramped quarters, Kurt not only collected dust as he created it, he cleaned the area when done. The pantry turned out far beyond what I had envisioned and was completed in the same day. I am completely satisfied. Lastly, because of changes in carpeting, three different doors had to be trimmed to eliminate drag; two hinged doors, and a bi-fold. Kurt approached that task confidently, and did the work with a table saw he brought to the house. All work well now and done in about an hour. He is currently designing a bed frame for me, which is a project this handyman will really get into. Every once in a while someone comes along who really fits his or her profession, people who love their work, welcome challenges, and take pains toward excellence. Kurt impresses me as one of those people; he’s solution-minded, client-oriented, as well as a knowledgeable, skilled craftsman. I recommend him without hesitation or reservation.

There were multiple jobs that I had around my condo, i.e.replacing a screen door to my outside patio, replacing hardware in the bath room, installing a new drapery rod in living and hanging a large, 3 mirror in my living room. Dennis is a true Professional, in that he is on time when he states he will be there for the job, honest, his "word" is everything. And of course the pride on doing a good job. He is meticulous in wanting every part of the job looking perfect. Those are the qualities that are valued by me and will want to use him for other projects in the future. He is Super!!!

Igor put up our shears and curtains on the big window in the front room. To do so he had to go to the store and buy the hanging rails first. He also bought a shelf for our laundry room and put it up on the wall. Everything was an excellent! But he went even beyond our expectations! He fixed our Magellan GPS which stopped sound. To do this Igor have used his radio-electronics education skills. We are so grateful for all service he provided for us.

Andrew is thorough, clear, and personable. He is knowledgeable and has done a great job on every task we've asked for, including adding thicker trim to exterior windows, assembling furniture, painting, hanging a new bathroom mirror, swapping out light fixtures, refinishing our wood stairs, adding a new wooden landing to our stairs, and repairing a cracked doorframe. There is more, but that's a pretty good sampling! I also appreciate that Andrew has turned down a job that he didn't feel was an appropriate fit for his skill set, which shows his integrity. He communicates well, and works hard.

I had a bad experience with another home services web site in employing a handyman to hang pictures. All including the one I hired were under-employed general contractors open to small jobs but still charging contractors' rates. I was overcharged and needed some picture hanging redone, along with hauling of many large packing boxes from two on my site storage spaces, consolidated to a one self-storage location. To my luck, I discovered "thumbtack" and Joshua Mittie, North West Painting &Home Improvement. I could tell by Josh's profile and speaking with him, he was well qualified, sincere and a family man. Although he is experienced to do a variety of jobs, he charges reasonable handyman rates for the job and gave a spot on estimate of hours and cost for my jobs, subject to his coming over for verification. Josh was very prompt in scheduling, coming over and bringing his truck and trailer for hauling. He very friendly, gave me a lot of good advice (such as buying my own hallow wall anchors to save me his time to buy them, patching dry wall holes, etc.) and worked hard and fast. Josh's great service and charges along with his cordiality, in getting my job done, really made my day. I plan to use him for our future move and any other jobs and I highly recommend his services and thumbtack for home services processionals!

Steven is truly ‘my hero!” When I moved into my 2100 sq ft condo Steven and Mike helped me with several tasks - assembling new furniture, connecting TVs/media, hanging pictures, building shelves, installing dimmer switches, and much more. This past 16 months I have asked him back many times – projects around my home never seem to end! Plumbing fixtures, electrical work, building custom shelving systems – no job is too small or too big. His expert advice is spot on and his work is always stellar! Steven’s work ethic is exceptional. He arrives on time or early, stays until the work is done, and has any supplies or tools he may need on hand. Emails and phone calls are answered by the next day without fail. His integrity is irreproachable – he tells me up front his fee and never over charges, and his fee structure is surprisingly fair. He has access to my condo for times I may not be there, I trust him completely. My only hesitation in recommending him is once you word gets out I will have to share him! Linda Hanson, Tacoma

The Loft Custom Framing is a purveyor of fine custom picture framing with emphasis on conservation framing. What is conservation picture framing? Conservation or preservation framing is a method of picture framing that preserves and protects artwork. We ensure that all of the material used in our custom framing and matting will never harm the artwork, and will, as much as possible, protect the artwork from physical damage. Our professional picture framers are trained in the latest and proper techniques /materials for preservation framing, and with our custom picture framing, your artwork will last a lifetime. What will happen to my art if I choose to not use conservation framing materials? If paintings or photography are not properly framed in a conservation manner, it can fade, yellow, stain, even be burned by acids in inferior framing materials – causing irreparable damage and loss of value and beauty. Because conservation framing materials are made to be permanent, they are made with colors that will not fade and core colors that are pure and clean – attributes that will maintain the aesthetics of your framed pieces for years to come. In addition, preservation framing protects the integrity and value – be it monetary or emotional – of all your memories, artwork, and photographs, preserving and protecting the value for generations to come. Another added benefit is conservation/preservation framing is completely reversible. If you ever decide to have your artwork taken out of your custom frame, there will be no visible trace of adhesives or mounting. Conservation Mat boards: Conservation mat board protects artwork from pollutant gases entering along the glazing edge, from acids released by wood mouldings and from the artifact’s aging by-products. Archival Mounting Boards: Archival Foamboard protects artwork from pollutants entering the back of the framed piece, from foam out-gassing and from degradative by-products. Conservation Glass: Our conservation glass also filters 98% of harmful ultraviolet rays. UV Plexiglass: Our UV Plexiglass filters 98% of harmful ultraviolet rays. “When should I use conservation framing?” We are asked this question quite a bit, and our answer is very simple, “When the artwork is worth preserving.” Obvious examples include original artwork, newspaper clippings, limited edition prints, cartoon cels, photographs, etc. Perhaps the most important examples – your child’s first drawings. We utilize the latest in computer resources to the framing industry and strive to keep up-to-date with the steady advancements in technology.
