Hello! I have over 12 years of experience helping clients lose weight, gain lean muscle and sustain their results through personalized nutrition and exercise regimens. We will improve all components of fitness. Programs are tailored based on your initial complimentary fitness assessment and goals. Please browse my page for customer testimonials. Most of my customers train out of their homes or apartment gym facilities. I have all of the equipment I need for our sessions. Weather permitting, outdoor workouts are a fun way to vary our routine and enjoy the PNW. I do my best to remain flexible. My rate includes a 5 min dynamic warm up, 50 min workout and 5 min stretch/cool down. I provide nutritional guidelines and on-going support to all customers. I have worked with a number of personal trainers throughout the years and I have to say, JR is one of my favorites. I struggle with several medical conditions (Lupus, Vasculitis, Osteoporosis) and I have to be very selective with specialists due to the variety of my special needs. Due to limited mobility and medications, I gained more than 50 pounds in a few short years. My self-esteem was at rock bottom! It took me a long time to get the courage to work with someone 1:1 due to the huge amount of fear and concern of hurting myself (and/or failing). I reached out to JR in 2017 shortly before a family tragedy caused my Lupus to flare up. It was more than a year later that I actually got back to him saying I had the strength to finally begin. He got back to me immediately - and we got together just a few days later. The first thing I noticed about JR was his kindness, empathy and compassion toward my situation. He seemed to understand where I was coming from and addressed my fears directly. Our first session was just sitting down together, mapping out a plan of attack and doing a fitness assessment. I was terrified! JR was so comforting and encouraging that once my test was finished, I was actually proud of myself and very eager to get back to work on my health and fitness! No doubt, JR has his work cut out with me. Each and every session is different - my body is an ever-changing minefield of injuries and pain. I was completely shocked that JR was able to work with my individual needs so quickly and easily. Although he arrives with a pre-planned workout, JR is able to modify or change his sessions as needed, reacting to my body’s responses and my fitness needs for the day. He has an extremely well-rounded knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology - and able to share that information intelligently and without judgment. So far, his sessions combine breathing and balance, eye coordination, stretching, flexibility, and strength training. He is a stickler for proper form and is generous with allowing time and practice to get each exercise done right. JR’s workouts are specific to whatever needs are most important for my long-term fitness goals and he has a kind way of getting me to work hard and keep at it. Each session, I feel like a new person – despite the fact that I am out of breath and exhausted! JR writes down all the exercises each session and sends them to me before he has even walked out the door. While teaching, his instructions are clear and precise. I rarely have a problem remembering them so I can practice on my own. If you are looking for a top-notch personal trainer, please do yourself a favor and consider JR. He is always on time, reliable and will give you a very personal workout designed for your particular needs. He truly cares about his client’s well-being and progress - I just can’t recommend him enough!

I started working out with JR (at my apt. building gym) 5 months ago. It has been hard, but fun and the results are beyond my initial expectations. JR starts with an initial comprehensive physical assessment, and then re-evaluates every month to track progress, which makes both of us accountable :-). One of my must-have requirements was to be able to train in my building's gym, which was not an issue with JR. I am now feeling very comfortable with all the machines and equipment in our very well appointed gym. JR, in his training, covers not only the exercises (which he writes down for me at EVERY session), but also covers nutrition and general health. I like that no two sessions are the same -every time we do different exercises which makes it fun, effective and pushes my limits. JR is a GREAT trainer, as he genuinely CARES about his clients. He is a gentle soul, with a big heart and high work ethic. I have no hesitations to recommend JR to anybody who needs a motivating, professional trainer!

Working with JR Trujillo has been amazing! My partner and I have trained with him for the last six months and we have seen outstanding results!! In addition to visual improvements, we've had measurable gains in strength, cardio, and endurance. Our initial goals were to lose weight, build lean mass/endurance and improve posture and flexibility, and each session has been tailored to help us achieve those goals. JR is also extremely knowledgable about sustainable nutrition, and we've learned so much about how to build a healthier lifestyle. As other reviews have noted, JR will push you hard, but he does it with such positivity that every session is a total blast! Working with JR has made me realize I'm able to do things I never thought possible, and I've been able to make life changes that I never thought feasible before our sessions. Overall, I can't say enough good things about JR. If you're looking for a health coach/personal trainer, JR is top-notch!

Every physician loves to tell us - "eat less, exercise more". Really?? Consider my mind blown by this super secret squirrel nugget of wisdom! Ladies & Gents, in reality, getting to the gym and working out on a regular basis is no easy feat. I enjoy physical activity, but I will also find a billion excuses why I just couldn't make it in today. This is where a great personal trainer comes into the picture! I have trained with Jr on and off for nearly 4 years now. This guy holds some solid certifications such as ACSM and Crossfit Level 1. He also studied to become a personal trainer not by reading a book (which is how many trainers get certified), but by actually going to school (National Personal Training Institute) for over 6 months. Working out with Jr, you will never catch him looking at his phone, or at other clients, or chatting with his gym buddies - all attention is focused on YOU! This is a very important detail in my book. He is respectful, knowledgeable and really fun! After your initial fitness assessment, he will identify your level of intensity and areas of weakness to focus on. Jr does a great job of keeping things interesting and constantly varying our workouts: from strength training to crossfit style circuits, to summer boot camps on Green Lake, there is no room for workout boredom, ever. Even though I love my Crossfit gym, I still work with Jr when I am looking for personal attention or just need to spice up my workout routine. And yes, he is a genuinely good guy, which makes working with him a pleasure.

JR is an exceptional personal trainer and life coach. His attention to the needs and goals of each individual client on a case by case basis is exceptional. JR designed a physical fitness and nutrition plan that WORKED for ME! What really stuck out to me working with JR is his focus on the fundamentals and leveraging unique exercise routines to force your muscles to adapt and grow. JR cares about his clients and their progress. A fantastic training experience and journey in mind & body transformation!
