Hardcore moving efficiently and quickly moved all my things out of my house after 43 years of living there. Corey managed and oversaw all aspects while efficiently and orderly moving everything. He was not afraid to jump in and help when needed as I had not finished packing boxes. He was very kind. A stressful day turned into a joy because of them. He also bid on painting my new home. Meticulously he painted each room with joy. He was very reliable, honest and did what he said he would do. He also power washed the moss off my roof and cleaned up the area better than it had before the roof cleaning.

Cam exceeded my expectations when he painted my house! He was punctual, professional, courteous and clean. He works FAST and finished my four-story 1,900 sq ft house by himself in four and a half days. He went around and made sure everything looked good and checked for any touchups. Before he left he was checking the floors to make sure everything was clean (they were!). I HIGHLY recommend hiring Cam and ignoring any other quotes/proposals you get from other painters. This guy is the BEST! Thanks so much for your hard work, Cam!

They did a great job. Because we are a HOA, all the painters work well with the various members in talking about the painters progress and what they were doing..

The Yard Guy is likely the most expensive option in the area. But we believe the professional service, timely execution and helpful attitude make them the right choice. We needed a full yard service in the Roy/McKenna area in less than a week. They not only scheduled us, they did a beautiful job. When we asked for a painter contact in the area to help with some interior paint touchups, they were able to help us within the short time frame. We highly recommend The Yard Guy!

Jose did handyman and painting work when I was selling my house and he was a lifesaver! I hired another painter but he left many part unfinished and sloppy and it was not in a condition to be sold. I then hired Jose and he painted outside of my house superbly and on time. He also fixed all the mistakes of my previous painter made inside the house. He also does handyman work so I wasn't waiting on anything that needs to fixed. I thought I couldn't sell the house in the spring selling season but Jose came after his other job to help me at night so I can make the date. Not only Jose does fantastic work but he could not be a nicer person. I am so glad I met Jose and any time I need handyman work or painting, I will call Jose and recommend to my friends!

We HIGHLY recommend MM Home Services!! We hired them to paint our kitchen cabinets and it was a great experience! Our kitchen looks brand new! They had competitive pricing, were very friendly, professional, extremely high quality - what more can you ask for?!?! We'll definitely hire them for our future needs - I believe they offer a wide variety of services, so definitely ask! One thing in particular that stood out...Rodrigo, the painter took extra caution in preparing our kitchen for paint to ensure no mess. (We recently bought new furniture so were worried about over spray - this was no problem at all.) He also went the extra mile by not only suggesting we get small door bumpers to protect our cabinets, he offered to pick them up at the hardware store for us (this was not part of the job, but it's the little things like this that reflect excellent service and craftsmanship.)

Hi Cheryl, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you of my sincere appreciation for all that I learned at today's class. I appreciated the structure (your bell!) and for making Cindy available for the other beginner and I; I would have been truly lost without her instruction. As I told you, I am a complete beginner and never for a moment felt that I was isolated in a room full of experienced artists. Many thanks for a wonderful experience! Marlene

Jorge did an awesome job painting all the ceilings in our home. He was on time everyday. He has a very friendly personality and was careful & courteous while moving things around in my home. He was also careful to protect my home from any paint splatters & even vacuumed all the floors when done with the job! Outstanding customer service, fair pricing & excellent job. Would hire him again in an instant. In fact, we will most likely have him back to do more painting once we pick out our room colors. If you have a need for a painter, call Jorge. You won't be disappointed!

Kriss did an outstanding job for me! I was really impressed with how hard he worked to provide excellent customer service. I needed him to complete the work by a certain time. He completed it ahead of schedule. And I was very pleased with the work he did for me. It was not an easy area to paint. It required attention to detail. He work shows that he is indeed a very skillful painter. I shall be calling upon his services again in the future!

Mark did an excellent job for us. We hired him to paint our entire deck and railings, a portion of the siding on our house and stain the underside of the roof that covers a portion of our deck. He did a great job on all accounts. He even painted additional sections of the siding and trim that were not looking too well at no cost to us. I highly recommend that anyone who needs painting or staining completed hire Providence Painting. Tait

Rodrigo made it hard to say no. He offered great prices and a great timeline. He had a clear vision of our goals, and helped us find materials that were affordable. He assured us that we would have our huge project done in just a few weeks, saying that he would have several crews working at once to complete the deck, roof, and kitchen remodel. This, however, wasn't the case. There was never a time that there was more than one crew working on one task, so the project took 2 months instead of a few weeks. We are mostly happy with the results. It was a large job, so we expect some hiccups. The roof and deck seem to be great. One area of concern is the sealant used on our slate tiles in the kitchen. It was either a bad product, or it wasn't applied correctly. It now is like a layer of wax that scrapes easily when walked on, or when moving the dining room chairs. Rodrigo assured us that his crew would come and redo the sealer, but that was weeks ago, and it hasn't been done. Rodrigo offered a great deal on exterior paint, so we took him up on it. Our house is old, and the painter did a good job with what he was given. The painter, however did not do a very good job on the doors. There were several spots that were messy, partially because the plastic that was hung to protect the interior from over spray touched the wet paint, and was allowed to dry that way. When we asked Rodrigo about this, he said that we would have to be happy with minor imperfections like that. The back door, however, has huge spots where it looks like the paint dripped and dried unevenly. Rodrigo keeps saying the painter will come back to strip and repaint that door, but again, it's been weeks and nothing has changed. Several weeks after finishing the kitchen remodel, there was a plumbing issue. The pipes were not connected properly under the kitchen sink, and we had a massive leak. We called Rodrigo and he said he'd have people come out the next morning (today) at 9:30 am. At 10 am, we called and texted, and as I write this at 12 pm, we have yet to hear back form Rodrigo. We are now working to fix the problem on our own. One is wont to say, "You get what you pay for," but when you're paying $35k, there's a fairly high level of expectation in quality. The work quality is fair, value is good, punctuality is lacking, and professionalism and responsiveness are excellent until there starts to be complaints.

Rafael was an all-around professional for my interior painting job. He came to my house to provide a quote as scheduled, provided a VERY reasonable quote quickly, and painted during a week I was out of town as I requested. His job was top notch . No drips or streaks like my previous paint job. Holes patched, edges neat, smooth walls. When I returned home, all of my furniture was back in place as I left it, with new, perfectly painted walls. Rafael is my new to-go painter, 5 stars doesn't tell the story! I strongly recommend Rafael for any paint job.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
