We hired a writing tutor for our 10 year old son (5th grader). Leisl is a very smart, witty, charming, and intelligent tutor who our son adores. He used to be so lazy before Leisl started tutoring him, now he does seem excited about writing.
Good for writing tutoring, Im an engineer and couldnt help my son (14) too well with the academic writing so Chris has been really helpful there. He explained it in terms of structure, which let me not only understand what was going on, it let me understand it in a way that I could teach. There are a handful of other stories I could tell about how CML brings his material (ha, materials science!) to life never again will I think a metaphor is meaningless! but it makes more sense to just get a lesson with him.
I have known Lynn Wilton for 25 years. She tutored me in English as a second language, and then in English as well while I was a student at Edmonds Community College (1997-1999). I have found her to be a very enthusiastic, creative, dedicated and patient tutor with excellent skills in improving my speaking, reading and writing. I received a very good GPA of 3.94 in my English course. Lynn Wilton is a excellent English tutor, and I strongly recommend her to anyone who needs help in English.
I appreciate how Arbor Tutors really finds the best fit for their student.
Louisa Peck is an extraordinary editor. Over the course of six weeks, she edited my dissertation and took my mundane, error-ridden work from boredom to brilliance! Louisa incorporated university requirements and current writing standards, without compromising my writing style or voice. She is easy to work with and offers specific, technical writing changes that quickly improves the readability of your writing. Louisa works quickly and her services are economical in comparison to other editing services. I couldn't be happier with my finished doctoral dissertation and owe it all to Louisa!

Our Experience with our English Tutor, Theodore has been outstanding. Theodore tutors twice a week for us and comes each and every week prepared with a well thought out lesson to meet our specific learning needs. I would recommend Theodore for his English teaching skills for sure, just so long as its not on Tuesday or Thursday evenings between 6 and 7pm. :) Brady
My sixth grader sees Sarah for tutoring in Math. We are very pleased with his progress. He has a better understanding of Math concepts and more confidence in Mathmatics since he has begun tutoring. We like how Sarah has made Math fun for him and how patient she is. I highly recommend Sarah Light.
Matt rewrote and reframed my resume in the most caring, intelligent way. He listens carefully, expands on the thought and is very creative in his writing abilities. You will not find anyone better than Matt. Thank you so much Matt!

Learning Solutions provided the tutoring I needed to be able to complete my educational program. Kathi was knowledgeable in many areas of study that I needed help with and what she didn't know she was willing to research and bring back to our next session. She is flexible with your schedule and creates a friendly atmosphere where learning is more likely to occur. I would highly recommend Kathi to adults looking for tutoring for themselves and for their children.

EXPERIENCE, COMPASSION & HELPING YOUR CHILD IMPROVE First, just FYI,I have opened a new account here on Thumbtack. A little about me would include how I went back to college in my 30's, because I wanted to make a difference in younger learners' lives! I finished up in 2003, and haven't 'looked back.' I have a teaching license, and 2 B.A. Degrees. One of my degrees is in Elementary Education and the other one is in Communications. Not only have I taught and tutored locally, but I instructed ESL/ELL overseas in Taiwan too! I hope to hear from you, so I can help your child improve! Thanks! - Bruce.
I tutor one-on-one with students needing extra help with school assignments or concepts that are holding them back.
We have more than ten years of experience tutoring and mentoring elementary, middle, and junior high school students in Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Language Arts, and History. We place special emphasis on learning skills. We listen and observe how the student best takes in the information, and then create lesson plans based on those strengths. We all learn in different ways. Our job is to make learning enjoyable and effective.
