Jae was responsive to my request and accommodating when I discovered that the sellers of our house left much more junk than I thought, and contacted him to let him know. Unfortunately, even though Thumbtack sent me a confirming email the morning of the job with the appointment time, (and I would be surprised if they don't send a similar one to the service providers) there was no sign of Jae. When I reached out he said he thought we were scheduled for five p.m., and managed to get to our place mid-afternoon. It cost way more than I thought it would, but I wound up with more and weightier stuff than I initially thought, so I guess that is to be expected. Once arrived Jae and his helper worked swiftly to load the truck. One observation is that on the bid side of the process Jae has a graphic showing a tall enclosed truck and how much it costs based on how much of the truck you fill up. The actual truck is open and shallow. While the graphic may only be illustrative, it seemed to convey an inaccurate impression compared to the real thing. My best advice is to have a good sense of the volume of what you are disposing of and don't be too attached to quotes until the hauler actually gets there. Would hire again.
P.S. Word to the wise, if you have the good fortune to be buying a home, make sure you write into the contract that the sellers get all of their junk out prior to close. That little error on my part was a several hundred dollar learning experience, lol!
