Brittany was fantastic with our 2 older cats! One cat never comes to greet a stranger but she did on Brittany's watch. She was even able to administer medication to that same cat! We will definitely be calling on Brittany again for drop in cat sitting! Please consider her -- she is great!

Heather is very nice and thoughtful, and was willing to come to the house to meet my animals as well as get the layout and go over my needs while away. She stayed a couple nights to take care of things and I felt fully confident in her services. She performed well and is completely trustworthy and I felt safe leaving my babies in her hands. Heather is experienced with all types of animals and she also left the house in immaculate condition. I am excited to use her again for house-sitting and pet-sitting services!

Judy from Pet Professionals has walked every dog I have ever owned (Rudy & Zoey (kennel mates), Sadie and now Cody). I trust Judy with the most important part of my life, my dogs. Not only has she walked them, but she has also given me training advice. Consistency with new pups is very important and her advice is priceless. She has been so flexible, if my schedule changes she adapts for me. My dogs have all loved her beyond belief. I am so fortunate to have found Pet Professionals, buy mostly I am lucky to have found Judy. She is not only the caretaker/walker of my dogs, she has also become a very close friend.

Sit & Stay was my go to pet sitting service for many years until I moved out of state. My kitties always had the best care from Colleen and Carol, I could travel without worring about them. I wish I had a service as good in my current location.

Her skills as a canine therapeutic massage clinician are soothing, calming and evident right away. The medical and behavioral history taking of pet and owner is excellent. Compassion and "eye-for-detail" is her forte. The medical response time has been rapid, with 3-5 sessions in my overview, as being very good. Many sooner than 3 sessions. Gail will work diligently for each client and their pet!

Lachelle is a great petsitter and housesitter. Our dog, Jamie, adores her, and when we return all is safe and sound, and he is happy. We highly recommend her.

Efficient, Dependable, Fast, Friendly, and complete service

I have my own cat. I sit for others. I give love and my time to take care of cats. I clean food bowls and litter boxes, brush cats out and sing to my animals.

I can do pet sitting, dog walking, lawn mowing, house cleaning, and other chores you might need help with. I can travel to you!

I have worked with pets in Brazil for three years training and caring for dogs and cats. Now, I move to Oregon to study aviation, and I am looking for the same job because I love it, and that's one of the best things to do for me. If you are interested, let me know. I am available seven days a week anytime. Thank you. - Adriano

I love dogs! My father is a local vet, so I'm pretty familiar with animals. I provide a pet excercise service and can help socialize your puppy, so they may get used to other dogs at a young age.

Patty’s Precious Pets offers home-style dog boarding for smaller dogs, 25 pounds and under. We feature a comfortable, enjoyable “bed and biscuit” for your canine family member. In addition, we provide overnight boarding with no hidden charges. We charge $25 for 24 hours of kennel boarding. We also offer doggy day care. Schedule a “meet and greet” today and board your dog with the assurance that they will be healthy, happy, and safe, while they are in our care!

I am a housecleaner and a nanny. I also take care of pets and do yard work. My career began at the age of 13 when I became a certified children's storyteller in the organization of Child Evangelism Fellowship, and also in the same year, gaining another certificate for taking classes for babysitting children. I have been hired many times for housecleaning and yard work, which I love, and pet care, which I have always looked forward too. I am very motivated and I love to take care of others and their things and possessions. I work hard everyday to meet every needs that I can and to bring as many smiles as I can to the faces of others.

I love animals so anything with animals is great, and I can also clean your house while watching your pet.

Dog walking is my specialty. I have over 4 years of volunteering with various animal organizations, not to mention I have a dog of my own. I am here to provide you with peace of mind that your best friend is being loved while you are away.

Animals are my passion, and I hop at any opportunity to work with them. I'm in a hard financial situation right now, so anything could help, and I figured I might as well work with something I love!

I'm based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am available for pet and house sitting. I love every kind of animal. I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

My work standout because I'm doing my job for the animals and not just the money.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
