Introduction: I've been making music with people since 1999. I started singing alto in the American Boychoir. It was a very supportive role, blending the color of my voice to fit the sound of the choir. I started drumming in 2004 and my philosophy has been very much the same as in my singing days. I'm here to support your song and deliver the emotion that you want to convey. I love to groove and sit in the pocket and drive the song. Mike was a pleasure to work with on several different creative projects! I had him record drums for a few of my songs and was impressed at his microphone setup and variety of options. I remember having a conversation about acoustics where he explained how he used in-ears and another engineer to find the perfect microphone placement in his recording room, you can definitely tell the effort he puts into his recordings! I also played a few gigs with him in his cover band. He was always professional, on time, and ensured everyone had the proper cords and equipment for a successful gig. When I found out he does a little creative coding as well, I also asked him to help me with my website. All around, Mike is great individual to work with from both a professional and creative side. He has an incredible understanding of the different facets that overlap to successfully record or play music. Would gladly work with him again in the future!

Working with Mike is an absolute dream! He gets things done so quickly and in such an organized fashion. So far I've had him play drums on 5 of my songs, and for each one his put down great tracks really quickly. He's been really responsive to any feedback I might have, and also has great ideas of his own to share. I absolutely recommend getting Mike to record drums for ya!

Communication is just as important to me as skill and Mike embodies both with the density of a neutron star. He is a pro, from gigging to rehearsals to recording. In my case I had very few solid ideas around what I wanted drum-wise on my tracks and left the rest up to him - Mike was able to nail the specific parts I wanted (despite my being minimally conversant in drumspeak), get a feel for the energy of the songs and add just what they needed with precision. He invites constructive criticism, is a team player & all good vibes. I highly recommend Mike for your creative vision.

Mike did an incredible job of not only playing in but overseeing our wedding band. He organized the band group, set up practices, and learned and taught songs that we wanted as well as provided a ton of great hits. His drumming skills are legit, and he’s also just a wonderful and fun person to work with. Would recommend.

Forgetting for a second the fact that he’s a great musician, Mike is simply a wonderful person. My wife and I could not have asked for more from Mike before and at our wedding. We had the idea of trying to create a wedding band from friends and family members who live all over the country. Mike put an absolutely incredible amount of work into preparing for our event. We told him the songs we wanted, and he did the rest! He reached out to everyone in the band, arranged and prepared the music, sent it out, coordinated meetings and practices etc. And that was all before our wedding weekend! At the wedding he arranged for all of the sound equipment and instruments to be rented and set up, coordinated more practices, and even moonlighted as a structural engineer when rainy weather dictated that the spot we picked out for the band to play needed an impromptu roof. It must have been a stressful weekend for him (he’s so chill you would never know that), but through it all, he seemed determined to make sure that we had the best wedding experience possible. He was just a joy to work with. And to top it all off, he is an amazing musician with remarkable range. The ragtag band that he managed to bring together through shear force of will was the highlight of our night and brought so much energy to our dance floor. They sounded amazing! Although Mike was the only professional musician there, the arrangements he prepared highlighted every member of the band’s abilities and ensured that they sounded great. We just can’t recommend Mike enough.

For studio work, 3 revisions are included. Each revision includes multiple takes and editing the takes together. For events, the biggest variable is travel and gear rental. We’ll discuss your vision and I’ll send an itemized rate sheet.
