Introduction: Our teaching staff are composed of nurses who have actually provided these skills in life and death situations. I like teaching people how to save lives and decrease suffering, being in the healthcare feild (critical care, and intensive care) as an RN for over 26 years I know how important this training is. Good CPR given in the community by good Samaritans increases the patients chance of survival as much as when paramedics arrive or when the patient goes to the hospital.

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Yes... American Heart Association newest guidelines, Medic First Aid International newest guidelines, RN requirement for WA state continuing education, and multiple critical care publication subscriptions. As a graduate from the UW I use educational resources from the UW.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

As a critical care RN working in a major hospital in the Puget Sound area I found myself in need of a BLS CPR card. The hospital I was working at did not have a class to offer within the timeline that I needed. I found myself looking for a class in the community. After calling multiple training centers it occurred to me that a RN owned and operated company could offer better training than what I was finding. I decided to step out and start my own RN consulting company providing training with a basis on education rather than memorization of skills.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The most important thing is to hire a trainer who has actually performed the skills, keeps updated on new guidelines, and doesn't waste you time with stories. "I Know CPR" uses nurses with a long history of providing all the skills we teach. We base our training on education and understanding the skills, not in trying to impress our clients with "war stories".
