Thank you Troy for cleaning the exterior windows on my home. What a difference! Was happy to have the windows done in time for my husband's party. Very much appreciate you working around the schedule delay due to my landscape project running late. Will definitely reach out to you the next time I need my house windows cleaned. Thanks so much!

I left the house and it was a wreck (we are at the unpacking stage of moving) Gerri came in ready to go this morning and just did a wonderful job I came home to a beautiful house that I wasn’t stressed at all to be in anymore! She’s a very sweet hard working lady. I will definitely be having her come in monthly at the very least!

I would highly recommend Laura for dog walking and dog sitting services. She goes far above and beyond with what she does and really cares about your pets. The first time she dog sat for us our flight was delayed and extra day and she was willing to stay and take care of them since we didn't have any family in the area to help us out. She had also been scheduled to dog sit for us when I was going to have a planned C-section and I ended up having an unplanned one a week earlier she was out of town for business. When I texted her to see if she was in town and available she was on her way back from out-of-town business trip and she came directly from the airport without going home to go stay with our dogs for the night. She also had a genuine interest in us and our family and asked how her baby and I were doing. She provides great communication as she sits for your pets and I trust her 100% caring for our home and our 2 dogs. Since we had just relocated to the area and didn't know anybody out here to help us out this past year so lucky to find her. She drives from Seattle to Renton to dog sit at our house and only wished she lived closer to help us out for daytime dog walks. I would highly recommend hiring her! Jessica

Nadia is reliable, dependable, and efficient. She is pleasant and easy to deal with. She's great with my (sort of neurotic) cats! It's such a relief when we have to be out of town to be able to relax about our cas and house. I can't tell you what a difference it makes to us. If there was a sixth star, she'd get it!

Great house sitter! Not only was the house greatly looked after she also looked after my two precious dogs! And they are quite high maintenance puppies! One has aggression issues towards other dogs and they still got daily walks with no issues. House was spotless when we returned, mail collected, A++++ service! :-)

I am a retired nurse, and I have extra time now that I am no longer working. I have been taking care or several people's animals for a couple of years. I enjoy the work very much. I have a cat of my own, and when I did private nursing, most people have animals that needed care also.

I can provide a variety of service. This includes housecleaning, move-out cleaning, senior companion care, babysitting and pet sitting. I am a retired CNA, and I watch my grandson on weekends. I am available weekdays and evenings.

I am 115% about animals. I always want them happy no anxiety

I am a trustworthy, responsible, and caring person who will take care of your most-prized possessions, your home, animals and even plants. I have experience and references that show that you can feel at ease and safe knowing that your home is in good hands when you are away.

I love being productive and efficient. I can pretty much tackle any task you throw my way, whether it's housecleaning or pet sitting. If you want something done right, then give me a call. I won't let you down.

I love animals and am here to help with any house-sitting needs. It is a good, easy, and enjoyable way to make some money.

Former volunteer dog technician at Seattle Humane Society. Responsibilities include bathing, exercising, socializing, maintaining clean kennels, doing laundry for staff uniforms and linens. Plus, responsible for family dog (Golden Retriever) and Columbia City neighborhood pet sitter.

I have 12+ years experience in residential and commercial cleaning. I also house sit, and have excellent references available upon request. I am kid and pet-friendly and have no limitations as far as time and day schedules are concerned. I have lived in WA state for over 40 years, but don't write me off as I am very young at heart, in great health, and just a good person. My folks will vouch for that. My whole family also lives in WA, and we are pretty close. I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your needs.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is house sitting?

A house sitter watches your house while you are away for work or vacation, or if you have to be away for an extended period. House sitters can also provide pet-sitting services, staying in your home and caring for your pet while you are away. The house sitter can say overnight in your home while you’re gone, or stop by once a day to ensure everything is in order if your pet doesn’t need overnight supervision. Reptiles and most cats are just fine with daily visits and feeding.

House sitting provides major advantages to the homeowner. A regular presence in your house deters break-ins and theft. Home safety issues such as water leaks get noticed and dealt with right away, so you don’t come home to big problems. A house sitter can bring in your mail daily, care for your houseplants, and provide home safety and peace of mind.

How do I find a reliable house sitter?

House sitting can help keep your home safe and well cared for so you can be worry-free while you’re away for work or play. There are several steps you can take to make sure you hire a trustworthy house sitter and do your part to be a responsible host. One of the best ways to ensure a safe home is to hire a professional house sitter. Here are some key points to look for when hiring a house sitter:

    • Reviews and referrals: When searching for a house sitter, always read reviews. Previous experiences will indicate how the house sitter will care for your home while you’re away.
    • Contract: Sign a clearly written contract outlining services to be provided (e.g., mail in each day by 5 p.m.), the daily rate you are paying, and how long the services will be provided. You can also include any agreed-upon house rules in the written contract.
    • Your part: Leave important phone numbers (vet, emergency contact, etc.) and information on where to find emergency items like the circuit breaker and the fire extinguisher, and have a credit card on file with the veterinarian in case of emergencies if the house sitter is watching your pets.
