Holy moly this guy....sent from heaven!!
Amazing job. We got our carpetscleaned when we moved here and used a horrible guy and now I wish we used him the first time to have enjoyed this CLEANcarpet!!!! Thank you king! I reached out help to deep clean my apartment before my daughter came to visit for Christmas; first stop for qualified potential workers: Thumbtack.
Don’t judge me!; my place had not been deep cleaned since I moved into my apartment 8 years ago!!! Life happened and my place just filled with stuff and stuff. And by stuff I mean a 700 piece purse collection. And an unhealthy obsession with crafting. Yes, it’s a problem ;-)...& an affinity to glitter;-)!. Ask my carpets.
I have heretofore treated my carpets with the dirt, dirty, dirtiest disrespect, and avoided treating it properly for years. Of course the longer I procrastinated, the longer I left it, the dirtier it got until I was completely overwhelmed every time I looked at it. Instead of addressing the problem, I opted for low, low lighting and shuttered curtains.
Regarding the “stuff”, everything seemed really important and I just couldn't let anything go. But that didn’t stop me from looting yet another thrift store. This meant that I was too embarrassed to have people over and I had literally allowed only 1 (ONE!!!) person in my place for the last 5 years. I badly needed an objective uninterested third party to make the hard decisions for me. This is where Terrell, The King of Clean entered the picture, and changed my life. Seriously. I am not exaggerating..
I read his bio and the reviews and he ticked all the boxes for me; just had what I was looking for; a non-judgmental, empathetic and an “apparent” enthusiasm for cleaning. Hmmm....really??? I mean, I love knitting; good sushi, wrapping Christmas presents but I have never been “enthusiastic” about housework. EVER ever. I particularly despise vacuuming and washing dishes. I would rather buy new ones than wash them.
It was with some trepidation therefore to even consider paying someone to make everything perty (intentional spelling),but, let me tell you: hiring the King of Clean was the BEST, MOST sensible investment since I bought that pregnancy test 13 years ago;-).
In short, I needed babying BIGTIME, and from our first communication Terrell melted my paranoia and embarrassment. He addressed me as “Queen” with complete sincerity and I lapped it up. It’s a crazy world out there right now with many of us living in our pajamas and working from home and maybe not looking as fabulous as we did when we had to go to the office everyday. Terrell can call me “Queen” every day of the week.
We texted back and forth to confirm the necessary details, and when Terrell read that I was preparing for my beautiful daughter who I have not seen in person since August, he (are you ready for this??????) asked me (ASKED ME first!) if he could PRAY FOR ME!!!! Anyone else in tears yet??? I was ;-). And it was a beautiful prayer that I really needed to hear. I’m just saying. I’m tearing up even writing this, 7 days later.
Then things took a turn for the worse. My daughter’s father, 12 hours before her flight, and 10 minutes before Terrell was arriving, cancelled the whole visit, and I was hysterical. And then the King showed. Doesn’t know me from Adam. I threw myself against his chest and cried like a big fat baby. I really did. Ugly, jagged crying while I clung onto this stranger for dear life. This man could not be fazed! Still crying I let him into the apartment and waved my arms vaguely around me saying dramatically ”Do what you can; throw it all away! I don’t care!” And walked away.
And that was the first time I met with Terrell.
I left him to his own devices....it was 11am ish, and he checked in throughout the day with enthusiastic reassurances of how happy I was going to be. I felt perfectly comfortable knowing he was in my place by himself, and his cheerful disposition held absolutely no judgment. He wasn’t placating me; I really believe he meant it but.... listen to me....this man deep cleaned my apartment for 12 [TWELVE] HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He cleaned my bathroom, including it’s floor on which I had been painting something random and had therefore trashed AND the tub which was hungry for relief from the grime...ditto the kitchen AND THE OVEN!!!!
But there’s more!!! Terrell then performed miracles in the rest of the apartment. He not only cleaned/washed the entirety of the old APARTMENT (2 bedroom 1 bedroom) carpet, notoriously cheap and nasty, he cleaned my 2 ENORMOUS living room rugs. Seriously, I have NO idea how he did that....there were stains that I had just ....lived with, resigned to their permanent existence. But now they are as beautiful as they were the day I moved in. As in, my apartment is now a “No shoes” apartment.
Remember the impetus of this deep cleaning was for the arrival of my teenage daughter; those adorable children that seem to have turned into back-talking monsters overnight?....with this in mind Terrell thoughtfully (and beautifully. And age-appropriately) MADE THE BEDS!!!; a chore that definitely WASN’T on the job description; he essentially staged my place as though he were showing it to sell the following day. I don’t know exactly what he did to the furniture in my living room, but it was bigger and more spacious than I left it...and yet no furniture had been removed....hmmm....
Now worthy not only of a picky judgmental 13 year old, but also of her cluttered, stressed out Mommy who’s mental health was directly reflected by the disaster her home had become. A physical weight has lifted from my body and soul. I’m about to go back to school to be a teacher and I don’t think it would have been possible without the considerable empathetic efforts that Terrell employed for, it is worth repeating: 12 (TWELVE!!!!) hours straight!!!!
It was almost midnight when he allowed me to come back to review his work, and the paragraphs above are an accurate description of what I saw and felt. Bizarrely, Terrell looked as fresh as he did when he had showed up 12 hours earlier. If he had told me that he had borrowed some of Santa’s Elves for the day I would have believed him.
The reason this review is so long is because it deserves to be. I want you to feel as I did (do) that hiring this talented (and I use that word purposely) family man is a decision you will not regret; he is not kidding when he says he loves what he does. ....the pride in his work is obvious in his enthusiasm, attention to detail and determination to fulfill the needs of the client, over and above what you previously thought was even possible in your home.
Hire the King of Clean for your next house-cleaning project. Do it. Do it NOW. Terrell is going to be the King of the Cleaning Market, and you’ll get to say he’s cleaned YOUR house.

We had started moving into our new apartment when we realized it hadn’t been cleaned since the previous tenant moved out. Terrell saved the day, showing up on very short notice on Labor Day to clean before our furniture was delivered the following morning. He got the place looking great in just a few hours, and was very friendly and professional. We were so happy to be able to get the place cleaned on such short notice and not have to delay our move in.

Moving is stressful enough and the time demands are overwhelming, so was great to have Terrell King of Clean help with move in cleaning.
