Introduction: I have a true passion for each and every student I work with and class I teach. I love to get to know each person and work to figure out what "makes it click" for that individual. I know dancing can be a scary undertaking for some people and I work to make them comfortable with their new adventure and show them how to relax and have fun with it. I love the variety & spice of life with this job. Each student is different . . . each class is different . . . each level is different . . . and each event I DJ/MC for is different. This makes things exciting and never dull. I look at each class, event & client as a new fun adventure to undertake. I also love seeing the growth in confidence and skill of each student as they progress. It's been such a joy to experience seeing many students evolve from "two left feet" to "wow, look at them" dancers!

When my husband and I decided to get married, I wanted us to be able to do a real first dance.So I looked for dance lessons in our area and found Jeannette Baker. She made the classes fun, made sure everyone was getting it and we could even do a short dance at the end of 6 wks lesson. Then we took private lessons about once a week till the wedding, Jeannette helped us choragraph 2-first dances for our wedding. They both were big hits, if you could only see the video and hear the people cheering and clapping though both dances. So many comments from friends and family how great our wedding was and the best part, was the dances! We still take dance lessons today, Jeannette makes class so enjoyable and fun. SO when my daughter got married a year ago, she also wanted a nice first dance, Jeannette again did a outstanding job,choreographing a first dance for them. She, DJ'd the wedding as well, again a outstanding job, playing music and teaching lines dances to the guests. The dance floor was always full and the guests had a great time!!!!

I've learned several dances from Jeannette, and I really appreciate her style. She is very funny and interactive. She is great at giving feedback in a way that is easy to absorb and use. I love the intimate size of Studio B.

Jeannette is a great instructor and offers a wide range of different classes. She is patient and her classes are fun. Studio B classes are small enough that you get plenty of individual attention and instruction. Even if you have 2 left feet you will be very pleased at your abilities after a 6 week class!

I have taken line dance, country, hustle, and some ballroom lessons from Jeannette for about 4 years. I followed her from different venues and now go her own Studio-B. You will find yourself getting instruction from one of the best dance instructors in the Seattle area. The classes are always fun and Jeannette will give you individual attention when needed. I highly recommend Studio-B for anyone wanting to learn line dance, country dance, or ballroom dance at any level whether you are a beginner or experienced. Did I mention it is always fun at Studio-B?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am CONTINUOUSLY learning new skills to make myself a better dancer and a better instructor. Recently I have moved back in to the competition scene (my dance partner lives in Calgary, Canada!) so my skills and techniques are constantly being refined. All of this information filters through to my classes as I help students improve their performances as well. In addition to this, I watch a lot of dance online, attend dance conventions every year ... and most of all enjoy going out dancing on the social floor!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started off as a student myself ... learning to dance as an adult. I took continuously more and more classes ... taking the classes as both lead and follow. I then started teaching private lessons and group lessons ... having fun sharing the knowledge I gained with others. I am, and will always be, a student trying to learn more ... and in turn take my knowledge and share it with others. The more people we can get on the dance floor of life, the better!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I teach both group & private lessons in all of my dance styles (Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Country, Nightclub & Line Dancing) for the general social dancer or competitive dancer. I also lead a community service line dance team that has fun sharing our love of dance with others who can not be on the floor themselves any more. In addition to "regular" classes I LOVE choreographing dances for special events, weddings, etc. I have also just been hired by a great a cappella group to choreograph routines for them! It is fun to look at each situation and figure out a way to make it fun, creative & entertaining! This life path for me also includes being a DJ/MC for big events ... be it birthday parties, school events, anniversary parties, benefit events and OF COURSE weddings! I bring my knowledge of dance, music & working with lots of fun people to the event and make it a special time to remember!
