- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My husband would work 6 days a week, for 12-14 hours no breaks, no lunch for a landscaping business who paid the same by the week. The customers would tell him "Wow you work fast and you didn't miss a thing." ... We talked it over and decided to give it a try. So with my husbands experience, my accounting background, and being a quick learner, we gave it a try. The first month we had 2 customers already in the dead of winter. We love what we do.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We redid her whole back yard with ret. wall, bark, new sod, drains to help divert the collection of water behind her home. I am always proud when I know there is a job well done and the customer is satisfied, but this one was particularly happy she was excited, her two little one could now play in the yard without the muck. I still remember her face.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask for references. Some can talk the talk and yet they call us up to ask how to do something. Not all can prove they actually have done a type of job before. They say they have exp. But really don't.
