About
I’m a jazz pianist with over 40 years of experience, specializing in classic jazz standards and creating a warm, elegant atmosphere for your event.
I typically perform solo jazz on your piano at $100 per hour (cash only). I truly enjoy seeing guests relax, talk, and connect while I play.
If you don’t have a piano and would like a fuller sound, I can sometimes arrange transportation with friends and bring my keyboard, or even organize a trio or quartet at $100 per musician per hour.
If you’re looking for live, tasteful jazz for your gathering, respond to Thumbtack, so we can communicate the details and schedule of your performance.

I booked the Michael DeVore Trio for my company's annual meeting in Seattle and it was exactly what we needed. I received many compliments from attendees. The vibe they set with the music made my event planning skills looks great!

Michael's jazz trio provided music for our private holiday party last year. They did an amazing job and we booked them again this year. I highly recommend them for your next event.

We had Michael and his band play for a reception on New years Eve. The whole experience from booking the band through performance and breakdown was great. Very professional group and sounded great! My guests were thrilled. Would definitely use them again.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price is $100 per each hour that I play your piano. I don't drive these days and take a bus to your location.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have the client go to YouTube (search for.... "The Michael DeVore Trio" ) and listen to some recordings my trio has made so that they understand the type of music I play. I play all the jazz standards that Keith Jarrett plays. Give me an email with your phone number I can call you to schedule your event with me. I will show up by Metro bus to play on your piano. I am paid in cash in advance of my performance. I will play my heart out for your event!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been instructed by some really talented mentors. Dr. Swisher taught me music theory. Victor Smiley taught me beginning jazz piano followed later by Randy Halberstadt and Jerome Gray. I feel I have a strong foundation in music and each year that passes I get that much better!
