Wes did a fine job refinishing my 60 year old oak chest of drawers. I had badly stained the top surface when using the chest as a tool chest. I decided to use the chest for clothing in our guest bedroom. Wes was able to remove most of the stain damage and return the dresser to a very fine finish. He picked up and a timely fashion. He did the job as good as I could have expected, given the stain damage. I am quite pleased with his work and would recommend him to others looking for excellent refinishing.

I couldn't be happier with the work Anthony and his team did on my bathroom and flooring! They were professional, curtious, very knowledgable, and informative. I had to have my entire bathroom redone and the floors in my office redone due to some water damage. I had to have everything in my bathroom replaced including the subfloor and flooring floors and some drywall and the subfloor and drywall in my office. Their work included drwall, flooring, plumbing, painting, and tiling among some other things. I was impressed with Anthony's knowledge and his and his team's proffesionalism. I asked A LOT of questions and Anthony was more then happy to educate me and explain everything that was happening. He was very patient with me! They finished the job ahead of schedule and everything turned out perfect! The pricing was fair also :) I would highly recommend Anthony's Contracting to anyone looking to have work done in their home!

The best. The Best. The Very Best. My experience with most contractors has not been favorable. James always arrives on-time and hits the ground running. There is no dilly dallying. The quality of the work is excellent. He's always pleasant, professional, and calm even when I spilled paint on the new kitchen tile floor and its grout. Very reasonably priced. Should I ask for work to be done that is not actually necessary he will advise. Additionally, he'll present an alternative approach when appropriate, which is always profoundly cheaper and better. Collaborative. He's knocked off at least 20 items on my To Do list of big and small jobs from painting, carpentry, cabinetry, light plumbing, light fixtures, and handyman. Excellent workmanship. Now we're working on kitchen cabinets to be followed with wood floor installation. I am so fortunate that he was referred to me and I just cannot say enough good things of him. Lastly, he is in the Reserve, which for me carries weight.

Dave created some new kitchen cabinetry for me. I was replacing a single oven with a double oven. Dave completely redid the cabinet stack, floor to ceiling, for the ovens. He did a great job of integrating the new cabinet with the existing kitchen cabinets. Dave is a bit of a perfectionist and spent a great deal of time getting all the tolerances and finishes just right and getting the ovens perfectly level.

He was timely, accurate, extremely careful in matching the overall color of the wood with the rest of the house. He produced a built-in bookcase that looks elegant and pleasing. I will re-hire him when I get to redoing the cooktop, making cabinets for what will be a kitchen island. Very, very good work! And many thanks!

Remodeling of our home from 1000square ft to 2150square ft. JBS construction took our tiny 3 bedroom house to a 4 bedroom with a master suite. I now have my dream house! I have an open floor space Living room, kitchen, dining room area that is perfect for our growing family. We can host large group gatherings comfortably. Jim did a wonderful job and had many great tips and ideas along the way. We were very pleased with our remodel. We have brought JBS construction back to complete other projects around our house. We recently had Jim do the tile work and backdrop in our kitchen and we love the help with the design and final outcome. It is always a pleasure to work with Jim and hire him for any any home projects.

We had all new trim cut and put up around all our interior doors and they hung remaining doors. They also replaced a vanity in our laundry room and built and installed custom cabinetry in our mudroom. Everything turned out great!! They showed up on time and communicated extremely well. Would love to have them back for future projects and have recommended them to several friends.

Paul built me an amazing kitchen. Paul listened to everything that I needed. He measured everything that I keep in my cabinets to give me truly custom cabinets. He was on time with everything he promised. He even came back to fix things my contractor had damaged. I won't call any other cabinetmaker for future remodeling needs.

Martinez Builders and Contracting did a remodel for me. My home was a 1900 barn that had been converted into a house before i purchased it. The home was not to my specifications and MBC came in and completely gutted the home down to the 2x4s. They went in and rerouted electrical wiring, added outlets and switches. They moved the staircase from one side of the house to the other to give me a larger kitchen and open dining room for better foot traffic and more natural lighting. Moving the stair case also gave me the opportunity to add another room upstairs. The end result was a beautiful home with detailed crown molding. Beautiful hand crafted cabinetry and counter tops. Beautiful hardwood flooring and and tile work, a gorgeous new master bathroom with radiant heating. MBC far exceeded expectations and I am extremely pleased with their work, professionalism and timely manner for project completion. The cost for the entire project was also very reasonable as well.

Jason has done some renovation work at quite a few investment properties I help oversee. Each unit required a variety of work to be completed from cabinetry, custom painting, tile installation (flooring, backsplashes, showers, etc), flooring, lighting, moldings, etc. He handled all phases in a timely manner. From demo to completion, he and his crew were professional, pleasant, and competent. He had competitive prices, and the work and service was excellent. I would highly recommend Integrity Renovation Svcs, Inc

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    Do you tip cabinet installers?

In general, home service providers such as electricians, plumbers and contractors are professionals who don’t expect tips. They expect to do a job for you for the specific price they quoted. Of course, they may appreciate a tip for a job particularly well done or for which they’ve gone beyond what’s normally expected, such as completing the project early or under budget. Even better than a tip, it’s always appropriate to leave a positive review online after a good experience.

    How much is custom cabinetry?

Custom cabinets can be built for any room, including bedroom closets and built-in armoires. Measured carefully and built precisely, custom cabinetry can increase storage and beautify any room. The national average for building custom cabinets ranges from $500 to $1,200 per linear foot. The cost is highly variable because there are so many styles, colors, glazes and other options. In general, the linear footage of the cabinets, the materials used to build them, and the cost of the labor will determine the cost. Solid wood costs more than plywood and wood veneer, and costs vary among different types of wood; maple and cherry cabinets are more expensive than pine. Glass-front cabinets can cost more, as can decorative hinges, handles and door pulls, which can cost $2-$45 each; choose carefully to stay within your budget and pull off the exact look you’re going for. Some carpenters also charge for installation, on average $100 per cabinet box. Additional molding and trim, such as crown molding at the ceiling, cost an average of $70 per 8-foot section, and adding finished ends to exposed cabinets averages $100-$200.

How much does it cost to have kitchen cabinets installed?

In any kitchen, the cabinets are the main focus, so you want to make sure new or replacement cabinets are installed correctly. A professional carpenter can properly, securely mount new cabinets to the wall; the national average cost for this service is $7,725, although the cost varies widely depending on the type of cabinets, their material and their size, and the accessories you add. A typical fee is $70 per linear foot to remove existing cabinets and assemble and install new ones; the cost is less if you do the demolition and removal yourself. Stock cabinets are the least expensive to have installed, ranging from $75 to $400 each; semi-custom cabinets range from $150 to $900 each; and custom cabinets cost from $500 to $1,400 each. Wood cabinets are more expensive than those made from plywood or medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and finished with a laminate. Wood cabinets range in cost from $80 to $160 per linear foot. Laminate-finished cabinets cost $35 to $75 per linear foot, on average.
