FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Proposals are based on a cost of labor and materials plus a set fee as a mark up.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before any numbers can be determined for how much any project will cost there needs to be a set of working drawings by a design professional. These drawings need to include, but not limited to, specifications for dimensions, code compliance, finish materials and locations. The more detailed the drawings of what the client wants, the more accurate a proposal can be generated. I only take on projects that provide detailed working drawings produced by a licensed design professional such as an architect and the project will be getting building permits.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been working in the construction industry professionally for 35 years and for myself as an independent contractor since 2003. I taught Carpentry and Construction at Edmonds Community College for two years and am an active participant in continuing education opportunities for trade and business specific trainings.
