Benjamin was been a very effective guitar teacher. He balances lessons with fundamentals and learning songs and trys to find songs that will appeal to the student. I have been surprised with my progress after only 2 months with him.Sep 8, 2018Verified
As a complete beginner, I found that Benjamin was great to work with. He was able to introduce me to the basics and tailored the lessons to help me grow. Would definitely recommend him!Aug 13, 2018Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We start off with an initial lesson to gauge where you are as a guitarist. We usually will ask you questions based on the skill level that you've indicated to determine where to begin and to get to know you and the music you like.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I've been playing for 14 years. I usually spend about 2-3 hours a day practicing, and I have been teaching since age 18. I studied classical composition in highschool, and enrolled in the U of MT's Jazz studies program. Iv'e been in a jazz curriculum since highschool and I've been fortunate to have had excellent private instruction throughout much of those years. I continue my private study with one-off lessons with whomever is passing through town, and with some of the great talent that Seattle and the North West has to offer. The instructors at SSI are all well rounded, well connected, educated, versatile guitarists with great resumes.
