I am a professional musician who specializes in Jazz Guitar and have a BFA in Jazz. I’m based in Seattle Washington and regularly work up and down the west coast with various groups. I can help you learn the practical skills of working in bands, reading music, improvising, and composing. While I’m primarily in the Jazz spheres, I also play other styles such as Bluegrass Flat picking guitar and rock/pop and can teach such things! **Please note that it costs me money to accept leads on this platform so please only inquire if you’re are serious about taking lessons!

My son (11yo) and I (61yo) have been taking weekly lessons with Martin for almost two years. Martin has helped both of us grow tremendously as players and musicians.
My son is now playing in the jazz band at school and loves performing. My son likes Martin's custom demonstration videos so he has something to refer to when practicing.
With Martin's guidance, I have expanded my knowledge and skill to the extent I can now play multiple styles and in a guitar duo.
Martin excels in creating a balance between fun and the necessary discipline to be a good player and musician. He does this with a combination of having us learn songs, learn solos, work from top guitar instruction books, listen to top players, and by sharing his learning experiences from his decades of study. Martin is at the same time an expert resource, teacher and coach, and is very personable and easy to work with.
