Introduction
I approach teaching first with the mindset, "lets have fun." Mixed in with having fun we work on building real skills and technique that give you the ability to make the most out of your music. I believe the process of learning about music helps you to build, "life skills" which will help all aspects of our lives and help find your place the arts. Watching a student grow and open up to different styles of music. Also when students goals are achieved (recital, talent show, university acceptance, performances, camp fire). I teach at Sound Music School, Off the Wall School of Music in Wallingford, privately a few days in Northeast Seattle, and in my home or yours if convenient!

I've only had two lessons with Neal so far, but they have been great. We joke around and swap music stories all while I'm learning new things. I'm sure I'll become a better player as we keep going with the lessons. I had put off taking private lessons for a few years, but I'm glad I found Neal and decided to try the lessons out.

neal is fantastic guitar teacher and musician. anybody, no matter age or experience, would be lucky to take lessons from him. i've only had one month with him, and my understanding of guitar has shot through the roof. he has a deep understanding of music theory and can break down any confusion i have. his passion and exuberance inspire me and make every lesson a joy. the only regret i have is that i'm leaving seattle and won't be able to continue lessons. i can't imagine how much i would learn and improve in just one year with him.

I'm just continuing a journey I should have finished long ago. Neal is doing a great job helping me get to the place I'd rather be in my music...

Neal has been my guitar teacher and friend for over two years in Orange County, California. He is a gifted teacher and musician who genuinely cares about his students and their progress. I looked forward to every session and learned something new each time. If you are serious about your musical education, there is no one better than Neal. I miss him as my teacher and wish him the greatest success!

Neal has been a teacher and a mentor to my son, Ethan since the 1st grade...now my son attends college at University of San Francisco and still derives pure pleasure in playing his guitar, thanks in much part to Neal's positive influence! Neal is an exception musician and shares his passion with his students. My son started with Neal at a young age and took lessons weekly with Neal until he graduated high school. It's the one "scheduled activity" we could never take away from him because he enjoyed it so much. It's hard to verbalize what a positive impact Neal made in my son's musical development growing up, along with just the terrific role model and friend he is to Ethan. Neal has coached Ethan through numerous Variety shows, Battle of the Bands, small local gigs, school performances and the very prestigious So Cal Honors Jazz band! Neal is the best - and very versatile. He teacher because he loves it.
