Jay Home Services is owned by Nathan Jay and his wife Jessica. Nathan grew up at his parents summer camp in Minnesota, spending summers shadowing their maintenance director and getting a feel for how to do all types of home and property maintenance. He pursued that interest by getting a degree in construction management from the University of Denver. He then spent over a decade working in both high-end residential and commercial property management.

Jay came in and removed my old microwave and installed my new one. He did such a great job I asked him if he could repair some loose drawers in my house, which he also did extremely well. With just 2 small jobs I trust Jay to be my handyman for life in Seattle. Great worker and really nice person.

Nathan is one of the most patient, professional people I have ever worked with on a home project! He handled a removal and installation of a sink and faucet (along with the addition of a garbage disposal) in our older home. Very thankful for Nathan’s help with our new Dacor refrigerator. The 3rd party installers thru Best Buy didn’t install our unit correctly, but Nathan saved us. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When the customer reaches out, I will follow up with them to discuss their specific needs over the phone, then provide them with an estimate of costs based on our discussion.

I have a BS in Construction Management and over a decade of experience in both residential and commercial property management.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently I worked with a client to automate their home, and had a great time doing it. We installed Brilliant smart switches, Ecobee thermostats, smart locks and a smart garage door opener. I then worked with them to tweak their settings and scenes so they can leave their house and with the touch of a button on their phone turn off their lights, lock their door and close their garage. We also set scenes so specific lights come on at sunset, turn off at sunrise and come on automatically where applicable.
