JD provided just what I was looking for--a range of options and theories for improvising in jazz keyboard. I'm self-taught, and JD was very patient with what I didn't know.

I came across the Aqua-Nets at a charity event where they were playing 80's music. I had been debating having a 50th birthday party and having thoroughly enjoyed my evening, I booked the band for my party. The band manager made the planning very easy. The band were professional and really created a great atmosphere for my party. All my guests had a great time and mentioned how they hadn't danced in years. I would highly recommend the Aqua-Nets for your event. The performers will entertain your guests and I have no doubt they will make your event a complete success.

Michael Benson Band played at our wedding last month. The band is awesome. They did everything from wedding music for the ceremony, our special requests for our dance, to Frank Sinatra jazz music during cocktail hour, to modern dance music covers until midnight. Friend's and family are still talking about how great the band was. They transition from one song to the next just like a DJ. My great friend in the entertainment industry was impressed by the bands endurance. They kept everybody out on the dance floor for our entire party! Finally, they really only took two short breaks, one during dinner that was barely noticed, and one brief one after 2 hours of pretty intense dancing. They were well worth the money. I highly recommend hiring them for your event.

I am a bit of an audiophile so I'm picky about music and bands. These guys are excellent musicians. They have an extensive list of songs they cover and each song was played extraordinarily well. Definitely recommend them to a friend; but I don't have to because my friends were here and they loved the band too. Dave Orr Kelso Wa

David is a very knowledgeable musician and teacher. I have had lessons from him in both music theory and a band setting. As a band leader he is outstanding and has helped me to understand the theory behind improv soloing. In the study of music theory he is a vault of knowledge and has broken things down to the smallest part so that beginners like me can start learning and USING the info in practice. The book he wrote is well laid out and very useful both in organization of theory and tools for practice on saxophone.

Skyler is an amazing player and an amazing teacher. Without him, there's no way I could have been accepted to Berklee College of Music. He introduced me to music theory, the world of jazz, and so much more. I have wonderful memories of the time I spent learning from Skyler. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to take their playing and knowledge to the next level.

Lauren was able to accommodate a last minute request to play at my son's rehearsal dinner, when the musician we had hired had a medical emergency. As it turned out, I was SO much happier with Lauren and her harp than I would have been with a Jazz band - she provided the perfect accompaniment to an intimate gathering of close friends and family of the bride and groom. She plays beautifully, and I highly recommend her!

The Rafael Tranquilino Band is one of the most versatile and exciting bands I have ever seen. Rafael's guitar work is inspired and he never ceases to blow me away! He also never plays a song the same way twice. You just never know what he's going to do. He is my favorite guitarist! Leah Tussing's vocals are this very cool combination of jazzy blues that brings a completely new vibe to every song she sings. Love her! They are a dynamic duo with some of the most talented rhythm sections in the PNW. I never miss seeing them when they are in Tacoma.

Ron is up visiting his friend Craig Alden Dell in Silverdale, WA, much to our delight, he was willing to step in and assist in doing a performance that Craig was originally scheduled for, but came down sick! What an amazing performance from a true professional! He joined another one of our 'favorites', Ray Wood on guitar. They both have a love for standards and Jazz and really brought the house down in our small venue, Guitar Cafe. We've booked him again and can't wait to have Ron back! thanks again Ron

Good Co played the reception at our annual conference and did a great job setting the mood. Our event was smaller than we had originally expected, but the band played on like it was a packed house. Everyone in attendance really appreciated their performance and I couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere than what Good Co created. Great music, a great presence, and worth every penny!

Knowledgeable, encouraging, patient, & prompt. Having come from a very small musical background Nathaniel was extremely helpful in laying down a solid foundation for how to play the guitar and how to view music in general. Nathaniel clearly has a deep understanding of musical theory and performance. His lessons are structured around what you want to pursue, but at a pace and with material that is challenging, fun, and rewarding to complete. If you are looking for a teacher that is serious about music, experienced and poses the ability to help you reach your musical goals, whether that be increasing your aptitude with an instrument or studying complex theory, I would strongly suggest Nathaniel.

Olivia, Collin, and Mitch are everything you could ever wish for is a Jazz Trio. They are professional, friendly, and AMAZING MUSICIANS! These guys have a real magic when they play together! We recently did a recording together and the recording engineer was continually gushing: "Did you hear that? These guys are good!" In addition to all this they're extremely humble and easy to work with. Have a request? They'll go out of their way to meet it!

We are very happy with Bloomfield Music's service! The 3 piece band we requested included piano, flute, and cello. They sounded wonderful, were very professional, accommodating, and well prepared. They played a mix of classical and contemporary/pop pieces for my husband's 50th birthday party. Highly recommended!

I hired Detour Band for a private party in Everett! They had a lot of energy and I loved how the songs were mixed together. They did a great job at playing music in between their sets and had awesome lighting! I was very satisfied and would definitely hire them again and would recommend them to everyone!! I loved how the singer got out and danced with the crowd in between her sets.. So much energy!! I love Detour!!

I guess that would depend on which service we're referring to here; as far as karaoke goes I feel that it's because I add to the performance of the singer by playing assorted instruments, backing vocals, and an above average mix. These things combine to create a much more authentic feel for a singer. As far as instruction, I use a much more informal and flexible style that I feel is less rigid for a new student and allows for more creativity and enhanced advancement.

            What is a mariachi band?

Mariachi bands are rooted in Mexican culture. Traditional mariachi bands consisted of two or more members playing stringed instruments, wearing regional costumes adapted from the charro (Mexican horseman or cowboy). Modern mariachi bands, which are likely what you’re looking for when searching for a mariachi band for hire, feature at least four members who play stringed instruments (violin, vihuela, bass guitar called guitarron) and one or more trumpets. The costumes have remained the same, but now trumpets are synonymous with mariachi music. Mariachi bands for hire often play a wide range of music, including styles originating from Mexico and adopted from elsewhere. These include jarabes, waltzes, serenades, corridos (Mexican ballads), ranchera, cumbia, and more. Mariachi bands for hire bring a festive and soulful element to a party, birthday, wedding, corporate affair, fundraiser or community event. UNESCO has inscribed mariachi music on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

How much does a mariachi band cost?

A mariachi band will bring your party or event alive with their fabulous costumes, beautiful playing and strong vocals. The cost of a mariachi band for hire will depend on how many players are in the group. Each musician in a performance group needs to be paid, so pricing is usually based on the number of mariachis (musicians), the location of the event (and travel time required), and the length of the performance. Day of the week also affects cost, as does day — Christmas, New Year’s Eve and other major holidays will cost more than regular days. The national average cost for live bands of all types ranges between $740 and $1,200. Depending on where you live and regional rates for performers, you might expect to pay between $65 and $120 per hour, per player. Mariachi groups may have 12-15 players available for performance at one time, depending on your budget. Here are some examples of how the number of players affects average cost:

            • Four mariachis: $300 per hour for weeknights, $400 per hour for weekends.
            • Five mariachis: $350 per hour for weeknights, $400-$450 per hour for weekends. Weekends may have a minimum number of hours.
            • Six mariachis: $400 per hour for weeknights, $450-$500 per hour for weekends.

How many mariachis can a band have?

A mariachi band for hire can have as many players as you like. Modern mariachi bands typically have a minimum of four players with the trumpet playing a vital musical role along with stringed instruments such as the violin, guitarrón (a Mexican bass guitar with a deep body), vihuela (a Spanish stringed guitar) and guitar. Strong vocals are also an important component of mariachi bands for hire, since one or more of the players will be singing during the performance. For a truly spectacular show, you can hire a mariachi band with 15 or more players. The medley of stringed instruments, multiple trumpets, soaring vocals, and even an accordion or harp is powerful and beautiful. Mariachis typically wear the traditional costume of charros — Mexican horsemen. The look is a very regal, monotone suit, often in black or white, with silver adornments and embroidery. Mariachi bands often wear sombreros as well. Traditional mariachi bands were only made up of two or more players, according to a UNESCO report celebrating the cultural heritage of the musical style. The style of music originated in the state of Jalisco. Now the style of music is symbolic of Mexico but is celebrated all over the world, and adds a fabulous vibrancy to any group’s events, parties and weddings.
