FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's really hard to do a bid without seeing the work. There are so many variables-surface conditions, access questions, any problems that are visible, etc. Sometimes I can work from photos, but a quick, personal inspection goes a long way towards accuracy in preparing a bid.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my jobs are smaller, typically a few rooms inside. That's not to say I do not or cannot do bigger jobs, but I seem to be getting more smaller jobs in the past few years. I think people are doing more themselves or putting off work for the future.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A few years ago I did a large exterior on Capitol Hill. The colors were a lot of fun-red siding (Benjamin Moore "Cottage Red"), creamy-white trim with dark, bronzy-brown accents. It was very satisfying to do the job well in the time I promised. Fun job.
