FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I actually started tuning pianos in high school, after receiving some instruction and tools from my family's piano tuner. In college, I got a job at the university piano shop and began a training program that included all aspects of piano technology, and decided that I liked it.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
The vast majority of clients want a "piano tuning" and that is mostly the service I provide. However, in tuning the piano, I often find myself doing other things that need to be done, such as repairing broken hammers, replacing broken strings, replacing missing ivories, fixing sticky keys, etc.
