Martha is a very intuitive, miracle worker!! I adopted a 1-year old rescue a year ago, so sweet and what seemed a perfect fit. After a couple of weeks, she woke up and was a holy terror - a nightmare to walk, lunging, barking and disturbing the neighbors. I did some private lessons, and enrolled in a highly regarded school specializing in positive dog training. I had a "reactive" dog and everything seemed to set her off. The teachers were very nice, but after hundreds of dollars and several sessions of Growly Dog, and BAT Clinic, there was only the very slightest improvement. I still had to plan my walks, avoiding all of the triggers...which was pretty much everything. The whole business was exhausting. Finally, I called Martha :>) She spent hours with us, explaining what was going on with my sweet girl, what we were doing right and what wasn't working...and then we took to the street. She spoke with my neighbor explaining my dogs behavior and let him know it was all going to be a thing of the past. She visited the other dogs on the street, the kids, a bicyclist, crows, squirrels...my dog shook like a leaf, but eventually calmed down. I saw my dog transform right in front of my eyes, becoming happy and relaxed and walking pretty. Two days later, I am reaping the benefits of Martha's visit. Still a work in process, but I have enjoyed our walks, and I feel free to walk where I choose. We were able to quietly walk near a small dog tonight that has always been on the receiving end of my dogs bark. We were both happy. Thank you Martha!!
Ada has made training our pup a great experience. She’s friendly, explains things in a very easy to understand way.
Cindy was amazing! On our first visit, we learned how to improve everything from the crate we have our dog sleep in, to the food we feed our dog. We learned some basics of dog training, and have seen vast improvements already in his behavior. Cindy is easy to talk to, and non judgmental. She obviously loves animals very much, and wants only the best for you and your pet. We are beyond happy with our experience with Cindy!
We took our 18 month old put bull for training. Anne was very informative and helpful gave my wife and I tons of handouts to help us to continue our training at home between lessons and to continue now. Rusty when he first started his training couldn't even see a dog without getting anxious and start barking and lunging. Now after 4 weeks he will allow dogs to walk by withing about 6 feet without him even caring and we actually took him camping over labor day and the campsite on both sides of us had dogs and he didn't have one outburst. Also rusty now walks nice on a leash with us. If your dog as any behavioral issues or just want to add more training to your dog's repertoire than I highly suggest Anne. You won't find anyone more knowledgeable patient and also affordable than her. Thank you again Anne or and Kirby for putting up with Rusty'a nonsense
Wendy was awesome to work with and Junior (our dog) learned a lot We would definitely recommend Wendy to anyone that needs some training for their pup.
We went through Belynda's 8 week training course with our 7 month old boston terrier, Lucy. Lucy started out as a goofy, easily distracted puppy who walked zigzag on a leash. Belynda helped turn Lucy into an obedient little puppy. She also helped us better understand: the training process, Lucy's behavior & how to react to or correct Lucy to get the best results out of the training program. She was also able to help us address some of the small issues we were having at home with Lucy (jumping up on people, chewing on inappropriate things, etc.) It was a great course for all of us!
We just had our consultation with Shawna about our dog's aggression issues. She had some great insight on what is causing the issues, and gave us some things to work on at home until our next session. After meeting with her, my husband and I are confident that she can help correct this behavior. I highly recommend Shawna to anyone looking for a calm, straight forward, and practical approach to dog training.
April Parke was beyond amazing when working with us and our dog Cooper. She helped give us the necessary training tips and strategies to keep Cooper grounded. Cooper thinks he runs the house and with April's help we were able to bring him back down to "doggy" level with the help of positive reinforcment. April is friendly and kind and you can tell first off she only wants success for you and your companion! I highly recommend Rowdy Rover Dog Training.
We love Zoom Room! The staff are amazing, especially Olivia at the front desk! The owner Cheryl is truly a gifted dog trainer and an all-around awesome person. Zoom Room offers numerous classes and you will find no trainer more dedicated to you and your pup than Cheryl; she has taught me so much about being a good handler and my dog Xedo loves her. Xedo has excelled at Agility under her awesome direction and insight. Even now, while he is recovering from ACL surgery, Cheryl has been so awesome, checking on him and offering ideas and encouragement. Cheryl is going to help us build strength in his knee, by utilizing one of her class specialties, “Puplates”! Best of all Zoom Room is a community gathering place where like-minded, fun loving dog owners and their awesome pups can meet up; whether it’s for "Agility League Night" (a friendly competition for pups and their peeps!) or celebrating while playing games and enjoying lite fare. Xedo even had his 6th birthday party at Zoom Room! Boy was that fun!! We have so many favorite events at Zoom Room it's hard to name them all! Cheryl is so awesome at putting together parties to celebrate every new season, including holiday photos shoots for pups and their owners. There is no better training studio around! If you are looking for a great community to connect with while learning tons about training your dog and having lots of fun while doing it, look no further! Zoom Room is perfect!
Alex was professional, on time and flexible with our schedule. He provided us with good feedback and course corrections in a nonjudgmental approach. He was easy to work with and provided us confidence moving forward with a new puppy.
Karen was absolutely terrific with our lab puppy, Scout! Scout is so sweet, but as a lab puppy, she is too much to handle. Karen taught Scout (and us) how to handle Scout with an e-collar. It's made all the difference -- thanks, Karen!
I am 110% satisfied with Vivians care of my pets while I was on vacation! She was courteous, punctual, reliable, obviously knowledgeable and just a real sweetheart! My pups and I liked her immediately! She even got my "shy" dog to actually leave the yard and go for a walk! I haven't been able to get her to willingly do that! Thank you, Vivian! She sent me periodic status updates and pictures! When I got home she took time to "educate" me on some techniques for continuing the training she had done with my shy dog and she will be coming back for further training sessions! I am grateful I found Vivian and will highly recommend her to friends and family! Thank you Vivian from me and Autumn, and Summer, and Dinah!
I highly recommend the Pawsitive Packleader whether you are getting a puppy, having issues with an older dog, or need guidance for whatever stage your dog is in. They are incredibly committed and are in your corner when you are their client. Prescott helped train my dog when he was a puppy, and he and Richard keep coming up with new training and exercise ideas as he moves into adulthood. They also referred me to an nutritionist (Patti) who was helpful as I looked towards an overwhelming amount of dietary choices for my dog.
Julie's knowledge and expertise were evident from the clear instructions she provided to me and the way she interacted with my Husky-Mal mix, Koda. Koda would go crazy whenever she encountered other dogs when we took our walks, so I sought Julie's help in finding ways to deal with those situations, as well as ways to help introduce her to known friendly dogs. She brought her dogs (Malamutes) to assess Koda's reactivity and we worked on exercises to divert her attention and to gradually approach and greet her dog in a more controlled manner. She also showed me how to prevent Koda from jumping up when greeting people and tips on training her to greet people politely. I've been practicing what I learned with Koda and her behavior has definitely improved. I'd recommend Julie/Learning 4 Life Dog Training to anyone looking for training and practical advice using positive reinforcement.
margaret has been incredibly supportive and responsive as i work to put her techniques into practice with my nervous dog. we're still working to get him where he needs to be, but after a week i can already see positive changes in his behavior that give me hope that he'll get there!
I am able to train dogs to standard behaviors. I have had experience with many dogs and love working with all breeds. I love working with young dogs and puppies especially. I am willing to travel to you when possible.
I train little pups into mellow, mild-mannered mutts and teach pet owners to understand where their dog/puppy is coming from.
We are positive method training service but with multiple types of trainers
Deciding to have a home-based training facility was based around the concept that low-distraction environments increases your dog’s learning potential and decreases handler’s frustration. In addition, by offering small group courses or private sessions my goal is to increase the Instructor and Handlers' communication network. In turn, the concepts within the learning material are retained and enthusiasm about learning more about dog training will have increased ten-fold. One thing that sets me apart from most trainers is the fact that I'm an instructor and not just a dog trainer. I will give you detailed step-by-step guidelines on how to establish different behaviors or skills. Furthermore, my goal is to help you understand why a Responsiveness trainer's mindset will help you accomplish your goals. The term Responsiveness refers to the dog and handler who can work readily reacting to each others' cues because they have formed a trusting and caring bond towards each other. Also, I focus on the whole dog (mind, body, and soul) and not just one aspect of the sport.
