About
Your wedding ceremony should feel like YOU.
I create and officiate warm, meaningful, personalized wedding ceremonies for couples of every background, belief, identity, and family tradition. Whether you envision a ceremony that is secular or non-religious, spiritual or religious, Jewish, interfaith, intercultural, LGBTQIA+ affirming, traditional, unconventional—or a thoughtful blend of several of these—I would be honored to help you create something that genuinely reflects who you are.
As a Humanistic Rabbi and interreligious chaplain, I am especially comfortable working across religious and cultural traditions, as well as with couples who do not identify with religion at all. I believe a meaningful ceremony does not have to follow a particular formula. It should tell your story, honor the people and traditions that matter to you, and mark this extraordinary moment in your lives with authenticity, warmth, and joy.
We can incorporate meaningful readings, rituals, family traditions, cultural elements, humor, music, Jewish customs such as the chuppah and breaking of the glass, or none of those things. I will never impose beliefs, language, or traditions that do not belong to you.
My role is to listen carefully, get to know you, and help create a ceremony in which you recognize yourselves.
Your love. Your story. Your ceremony.

Review for Rabbi Jerid
Rabbi Jerid helped make both our micro wedding and later big family wedding wonderful! From the beginning of the process, we knew we made a good choice following recommendations from our congregation, because Jerid was kind, enthusiastic, and helpful in crafting our ceremony (twice:)
He helped us culturally blend our ceremony for my Jewish background and my wife’s Taiwanese heritage. I’m very pro for pre-marital counseling, and he made us feel great by noting each of the marriage fundamentals he noted that we had already agreed on. On the day of our micro wedding, Rabbi Jerid came early when we booked a little venue on the Stillaguamish River. We dreamed about doing the ceremony in the river, but thought it would be too tricky. Luckily, Rabbi encouraged my wife and me to try and then he helped up set up the chuppah on a little island in the stream! So romantic!
He crafted a meaningful ceremony checking with us all the way including Hebrew and English and a space for our 2 friends speaking. It was short and sweet so our dozen guests could get to the cake! This would be a blueprint for our bigger we were planning for the next year when we were ready to mingle our out-of-state families and friends.
That next year, we got the big venue picked and the guest list settled, we realized Rabbi Jerid was the right fit for the big stage at local winery and that our friends and family would love and appreciate his presence just like we did. Together the 3 of us updated the ceremony with parts for the Chinese cultural elements, a little Mandarin, a few tears, and whole lot of fun. All our family and friends appreciated Rabbi’s peace and energy. Thanks Rabbi Jerid!
