Just Plain Darin played a private concert for my family and friends, and it was an absolute delight. Just Plain Darin lives up to his name in the best way - authentic, approachable, and effortlessly talented. His song selection and arrangements were incredible, and his vocals showcased pure talent. He was not only accommodating but also fun and engaging. Exactly what you want for a backyard/private showcase.

From initial inquiry to his performance, Darrin was professional and prompt with communication and seeking to understand the audience. Darin is a talented musician and a great person! We loved having him as our musician for an event we hosted. We would hire him again in an instant (and plan to do so when the next event pops up). His music was the perfect blend of easy listening background and intimate performance. He was able to work with me to plan out what we wanted for our live music experience, even to the point of accompanying me and a few family members in a couple personal songs for the occasion. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing starts at $500 for a solo, acoustic performance of up to 3 hours. This is a flat fee, so the price does not decrease if your time frame is less than 3 hours. If, at the end of the event you decide you want me to play longer, I charge an overtime rate of $75 for each additional Half Hour.
For an additional cost, I also perform as a duo with a percussionist. This guy adds a new level of groove to atmosphere, while still maintaining a conversational volume.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, the customer will email me to start the conversation. Then we will schedule a quick call to go over specifics.
From there, I will initiate a contract and require a 50% deposit to hold the date. The balance is due on the day of the event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associates degree in Music with a double major in Jazz Studies and the Business Of Music. But the real education has happened in the practice room and on the numerous stages, through the 1000's of shows I've played over the last 20+ years. I've played everywhere from small coffee shops to 20,000 seat arenas. I once even played a grand opening of a hardware store. That's when I knew I'd really made it.
