    Joshua Krell Music Academy

    (12 reviews)

I believe the difference between an "average" teacher and a great teacher, is this. A great teacher cares not just about a student's guitar instruction, but also cares deeply about each student as as a person. Especially when teaching younger kids, but also with adults as well, it is my priority for each student to be encouraged and walk away from each lesson feeling uplifted and excited about life. I believe music is an incredibly powerful tool that can be used powerfully in people's lives to motivate, inspire, encourage and build real life skills. As a teacher, I take my impact on my students very seriously. The highlight of my teaching career is when students open up to me about struggles they are experiencing, both in lessons and in their personal lives. I love having the opportunity to encourage my students through the hard times they face. One of the incredible things about being a teacher is also being able to see some of my students face their fears and overcome obstacles and challenges. This really inspires me in my own life as well!

  • 333 Music Studios | Music Lessons and Recording

    (13 reviews)

Dylan has been teaching music for over a decade and is passionate about GREAT music. He has a degree in music from Northwest University and sings, plays and coaches private lessons as well as bands and worship teams, this includes song writing and recording. It is all about doing the music you want to do (what you love) and doing what we have need to do to make you better! *** Good music is good music. *** If you want to go the next level, learn about yourself and what it takes to grow, maybe perform on stage, sing and play harmony, write and record songs using guitar, voice or piano, then this place is for you! *** Just recently I moved from the Seattle area (where I taught full time) and teach part time out of my office/studio at local church where I am the music director. We love it when someone reaches a goal, when the "GET IT". We love to have a strong, but easy going atmosphere where each student can learn in a way that makes sense to them.

Have you always wanted to take guitar lessons but felt intimidated/discouraged by already experienced players? Do you worry that you just wouldn't be any good and would embarrass yourself in front of a teacher? Do you worry you don't have enough time or talent to play the guitar? These are all very common fears, but there is no reason they need to hold you back. I completely understand all these worries, however, because I've felt them myself. After all, I was once a 12-year old holding a guitar with not even the faintest idea of how to play it. I watched videos of Eddie Van-Halen, Neil Young, Mark Knopfler, and Jimi Hendrix, and many others with stars in my eyes, but I was convinced I could never play like them. What they did was magic, and I knew I wasn't magic. Ten years and a music degree later, I know much better than that. No, I didn't learn magic, but I practiced and played and listened often. With patience and encouragement from others was able to make the sounds and music I wanted to. It took perseverance and good guidance from my teachers, but soon my playing started turning into the sounds I wanted to make on on my guitar, and I was playing the music never thought in a million years I could when I first started. In my studio there's no room for intimidation, you won't embarrass yourself, and you'll be surprised by how much you can learn with a small amount of concentrated practice each day. We take things slowly and carefully, always building confidence and producing quality chords, notes, and rhythms. Whatever your goals are, we'll find a way to do it, and we'll do it well. My goals are your goals, and every move I make while teaching reflects this. I OFFER A FREE LESSON FOR ALL NEW STUDENTS TO GET A FEEL FOR MY TEACHING BEFORE MAKING ANY COMMITMENTS. If you'd like to learn to play your favorite tunes and pieces in a pleasant learning environment with a highly qualified teacher, contact me today to set up a trial lesson. I'm very excited to meet you. I absolutely love helping people learn to play guitar. The instrument has such a rich history; It's been a part of almost every style of music since the early 1800s and even before. Playing the guitar has allowed me to play with groups in rock, country, classical, jazz, blues, and many other amazing styles. It's also just led to a lot of quality time by myself playing music. Whatever you like to play, however you like to play, wherever you like to play, you can do it with guitar. I love seeing students hone their skills and make the instrument their own. If you're ready to play, I'm ready to help you achieve what you want to achieve. Want to read some reviews of my lessons? Click the link below to my facebook teaching page!

  • Andrew Enz

Regardless of musical style, age, or ability, I believe that making music must be enjoyable. As very few of us proceed to become concert performers, there should not be the expectation or the pressure that you’ve to excel to enjoy. Once you enjoy music making, you'll find that you will excel! My approach to music education is not rigid like many traditional methods, but rather to inspire students to be creative and help them achieve their own musical goals. Because my lessons are student-centered, I don't use or endorse any one teaching method, but instead find what’s best suited for the student. I have been doing expert guitar coaching for over 25 years. Gift certificates are available at Amend Music Center, South Hill.
