- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
TML offers two membership options. If you want one-on-one individual instruction, a membership is $220/month (grand total). If you want group instruction, a membership is $144/month (grand total). We do not charge on a per-lesson basis. Instead, your monthly membership fee grants you access to the school as well as a host of other benefits. Modeling our program this way allows us to spend more time teaching and refining our craft, and less time chasing payments. With your membership, you get: 1) a weekly lesson, either individual (45 minutes) or group (1 hour) 2) all materials paid for and purchased, so you never visit a music score or pay for books 3) occasional workshops and classes 4) occasional guest lectures 5) half price tickets to the symphony and other local concerts/musicals 6) a team of highly qualified and enthusiastic music educators, each with a degree (sometimes multiple) in their area of expertise. We are grassroots, and do NOT run our program like a corporate music school.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Students can sign up for an initial meeting, where he/she will meet his/her prospective teacher to talk details, logistics, etc. The teacher will also help the student understand what he/she can expect as a TML member, anticipated rate of progress, extra opportunities, etc. Most importantly, the teacher will get a sense for the personality of the student so that he/she can tailer his/her teaching approach accordingly .
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All of our educators are required to have at least one bachelor's degree in a field of musical study. Several of our instructors have multiple degrees and/or masters degrees. We take our work very seriously. Additionally, we are active performers ourselves! We sing in choirs, perform with symphonies, give solo recitals, participate in intensive workshops around the region, and generally maintain an active presence in the music scene so that we can be every bit as engaged as we hope you will be!
