Before we ever started wedding planning, I always thought we'd go the DJ route when it came time for our big day. For some reason, I didn't think most bands could do my favorite songs justice. Then, we saw the Michael Benson Band in action. When we finally got to planning our wedding, one of our "must-haves" was a good dance party, so it was never a question that MBB would be part of our day. We even tried to keep it a surprise to our guests, many of whom are familiar with Michael and his performances, but once we let it slip, our friends could barely contain their excitement, knowing that an especially fun wedding was ahead of them. Michael was an absolute professional from day one, humoring my bridal anxieties and accommodating some very special requests, including our first dance -- a Phish song covered by Dave Matthews (the perfect song to appease both bride and groom!). And what a dance party it was! High heels were removed, jackets and ties taken off, Gangnam Styles and lassos appeared, and guests who claim they "never dance" were mysteriously summoned out to the floor. We never wanted it to stop. Thank you, Michael Benson Band, for being such a huge part of what made our day so perfect!
Neal has been a teacher and a mentor to my son, Ethan since the 1st grade...now my son attends college at University of San Francisco and still derives pure pleasure in playing his guitar, thanks in much part to Neal's positive influence! Neal is an exception musician and shares his passion with his students. My son started with Neal at a young age and took lessons weekly with Neal until he graduated high school. It's the one "scheduled activity" we could never take away from him because he enjoyed it so much. It's hard to verbalize what a positive impact Neal made in my son's musical development growing up, along with just the terrific role model and friend he is to Ethan. Neal has coached Ethan through numerous Variety shows, Battle of the Bands, small local gigs, school performances and the very prestigious So Cal Honors Jazz band! Neal is the best - and very versatile. He teacher because he loves it.
I hired Lex Maurer's jazz trio (guitar, bass, drums) for my backyard garden party in July 2016, and was very pleased. The band arrived on time and were set up and ready to play when our guests arrived. The musicians were all excellent, and they played a good mix of jazz, latin jazz, and instrumental popular tunes that our family and friends knew and enjoyed. Mr. Maurer and his trio was exactly what I was looking for, and I would hire them again. -Josh O. Seattle WA
Max was great to work with and I would love to hire their band again in the future!
I use Ian for our monthly music and all of our Wine Club releases as well. He is always professional, easy to work with, and always demanded by our guests to come back. If you are looking for the perfect sound, from a dependable musician, look no further. I highly recommend Ian (and his band if you have the space for it) for any event. He can rock any room, and he can also serenade any audience as well. He also brings an audience with him, and his sound draws in anybody within range. And unlike a lot in his profession; he is dependable and always incredibly easy to work with. Thank you Ian!
One of the best Blues bands I have ever seen. I will travel to see them. Great Music and Great Fun! Always a great time!
Band was absolutely amazing and with much better musicians at a lower price than other bands we checked out. They were able to learn and master our first dance songs on a last minute basis, play some unexpected live requests, and even allow our friends to join and sing on a couple tunes. Many people complimented the vocalist and the band in general at the end of the night as well. Highly recommend. I have background in music, and these guys know how to play.
I have worked with David as a teacher of a Rock Band class and related Music Theory. He is knowledgeable, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and fun. He wrote his own theory book about improvisation which has been very helpful in making something which could be scary, both accessible and possible. In Rock Band he works with many kinds of instruments quite effectively.
What a great band and true gentlemen. There were professionals with tremendous talent and crowd appeal. Ideal band for any occasion!
We hired Ryan and his band to play for our wedding. He was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We asked him to play specific songs, and he wrote out music for the whole group and they performed it perfectly! He made our magical evening truly one to remember. Would highly recommend Ryan and his band for weddings, corporate event entertainment, background music, and anything in between.
They did the best classics, and new stuff too, it was so fun! So nice to have a real live band and not a DJ. We were getting compliments on the band all night. Such a great time! Thanks Highsteppers, you rock.
We had Michael and his band play for a reception on New years Eve. The whole experience from booking the band through performance and breakdown was great. Very professional group and sounded great! My guests were thrilled. Would definitely use them again.
Premier 80's band!
Dan Kramlich is the best! Dan's grunge trio performed at my wedding ceremony and for the cocktail reception afterwards. My family and friends raved at how wonderful the music was. I had attended a few of his grunge trio's performances and contacted Dan to have him perform at my wedding. It was the first wedding decision my husband & I made - even before picking a venue, date or anything else. Before the wedding, I provided Dan with a list of songs for the ceremony and he was incredibly thorough about asking questions to better understand the length of the procession (and therefore estimated timing of songs and cut offs for the music) as well as dress code for the band. Dan was very prompt and responsive to all emails prior to the wedding for questions we and our venue had. At the wedding, they showed up early to set up and performed the music wonderfully. It says a lot to trust someone enough to let them play live music you walk down the aisle to. My husband and I were very happy about the results and our wedding guests could not have been more delighted. It was fun to watch their faces light up and exclaim, "Wait... I know this song!" We'd hire Dan again in a heartbeat.
Lindstrom and Company are truly great performers and musicians. They can be the highlighted talent, or perform as house music. They are capable of mastering a wide selection of music that easily makes them art for any occasion. You will never be dissapointed in hearing them perform.
Very professional and talented musicians. Have worked with them several times and will continue to do so. Highly recommend this band!

Visualize your event with our vintage, classy and sophisticated music drawn from the 1920s and 1930s. We bring alive the Gypsy Jazz of France and the American Swing standards of prohibition era Harlem, and we also have Latin sambas and bossa novas, all to swing dance and sway to. Our music will make your event special. We have performed for weddings, corporate functions, anniversary receptions, birthday parties, festivals, restaurants, swing dances and more.
I guess that would depend on which service we're referring to here; as far as karaoke goes I feel that it's because I add to the performance of the singer by playing assorted instruments, backing vocals, and an above average mix. These things combine to create a much more authentic feel for a singer. As far as instruction, I use a much more informal and flexible style that I feel is less rigid for a new student and allows for more creativity and enhanced advancement.
You have the option of a single bill because you are only paying to one person handling your entertainment, Just DJ or Mariachi Band with a DJ.
