We hired Chano to paint the interior of our garage, and Chano also quoted on staining our wood deck. Chano was very professional, friendly and thorough during the quoting process and his team did excellent work. In fact, they were able to complete the job the same day Chano came out to quote. Highly recommend!

Ben did a great job – better than the original installation. He came back a couple times to install drywall behind the vanity, sand it, and paint it. I am thrilled with his work.

The guys came out last week to paint our trim, garage door and front door. It was a rainy week, and a pretty challenging one to paint outdoors. However, they guys got the job done and it looks great. Communication was good. Application is totally professional. They used quality products and did the job well. Overall, the paint job adds a lot of value to our property and it was money well spent!

Jesus came out the next day and gave me a quote. We agreed on a date and he and his crew arrived on time and started right away. They worked very hard on a hot and humid day without the A/C on. I hired them to paint my vaulted ceiling and to paint the old laminate paneling in my family room. It turned out beautifully and they cleaned up everything when they were done. I will definitely hire them for all my projects. Jesus called me the next day to follow up and make sure everything was to my satisfaction. He is a very good person and I highly recommend him. Thank you

Will was, hands down, the most communicative person I’ve worked with when it comes to maintaining my rental property. He gave a fair price for repairing the walls and painting an old 3 bed / 2 bath and kept me up to date of status and sent photos of the progress throughout the week (without me asking). My building is an older brick 2 flat in Chicago and the many walls have cracked over time. After Will’s team spent 4 days in there it is hard to recognize. The team also did an excellent job cleaning and protecting my fixtures from paint (no paint on anywhere not requested). I will use Will and Victory 1 in the future for other units.

Bill did a great job patching 3 smaller areas of drywall. He is very personable and did quality work. I was able to paint over his drywall jobs a few days later and you can't tell there was ever any damage.

BEYOND EXCELLENT! I recently moved to a new place to live with my partner and our place needed some serious painting. I obtained a couple of estimates from a variety of painting companies, however, they all seemed over priced - based in my personal research.Upon discussing this with a friend, she suggested me to reach Charlie's painting to get a quote. My Experience As a Customer: Since day one when I contacted Charlie I knew he had to be the one to begin and complete the painting that my home urgently needed. Charlie was very nice, patient and respectful when I first contacted him via phone. I explained my budget and what I needed done in my home. He advised that before he could give me an estimate on the amount he would charge, he wanted to see the conditions of my place to ensure that the price/quote he was providing was fair. He was able to stop by my home in a quick turn around time after we spoke on the phone. When Charlie arrived to my house, he advised that what I was requesting and my budget would work for him! Those news were very exciting to me because again, I had struggled so much to find a painting company that would negotiate with me! I honestly think he knew how much I had struggled to find him! This is not the best part yet. I told Charlie my idea of how I wanted my house to be painted and he, in a very respectful manner, provided other ideas/suggestions that he believed would be good for my house. He provided ideas of having different colored rooms and the color choice itself was glorious! I could not be happier. Needless to say, the quality job provided was beyond expectations. My walls and ceilings look as professional as they can be! I WITHOUT A DOUBT will be recommitting and recommend Charlie's painting to ANYONE who is looking for professional paint job with reasonable prices. To be honest, I don't think there is anything that needs to be improved. The time taken to complete my home's painting was less than the estimated time Charlie's painting had advised of, the quality work was excellent, and the attitude and charisma that Charlie has is unique. Again, I recommend these services to anyone and everyone!

The price was reasonable - 2 day job to paint roughly 1,000 square feet of wall / ceiling space - 2 coats plus a couple small dry wall repairs. Friendly. They showed up on time and did a great job. Moved furniture & pictures from the walls that were too large for me to move. Returned all furniture and pictures to their locations. Cleaned up from day one to day two. I would rehire for another painting job.

We hired Lyndell to patch up some spots on our bathroom ceiling where paint was chipping and surface mold was growing. We had our entire bathroom remodeled a little over a year ago but come to find many corners were cut leaving us with small issues piling up. Lyndell was prompt to respond to our initial request. When my husband and I finally met Lyndell he was very thorough and extremely knowledgeable. He provided great details. Answered all our questions. Calmed my anxieties about our mounting bathroom problems. The work was quality and a great value. I wish we had hired Lyndell for our initial remodel. He has so much expertise. My husband and I would fully recommend him.

My husband and I hired CWN Advanced painting to power wash and paint the exterior of our Tudor style home. Including trim, garage doors, and front door. The work they did was truly masterful. There was a lot of prep work including replacing boards and patching holes, which are now unnoticeable. i am having them come back to paint my sun room and bathroom.

I recently moved and Chano and his team repainted my entire place. He came by first to look at the place to give me an estimate and was extremely helpful, suggesting paint colors when I asked for recommendations. The finished product was perfect, and I really appreciated the level of detail and care his team took. He really is a perfectionist and wants to make sure you are happy with the finished product. I would absolutely recommend anyone to him.

Michael came by and gave a free itemized estimate on several areas of my home, which allowed me to do the work as time and budget would allow. The estimates were very reasonable. We scheduled an appointment to first start on my powder room. He repaired drywall, painted, installed a toilet paper holder, towel ring and hung a mirror. He showed up on time and days after would call if he was running a few minutes late. We had broken our towel bar which left a hole in the wall. My husband had done a very poor patch job. Michael made it look like a hole had never existed. Michael suggested we go with a towel ring instead of a towel bar which was more appropriate for the size of the room. Great suggestion. He also removed a large mirror that had been glued to the wall. He carefully and neatly removed the mirror and immediately used his own vacuum to clean the little debris that remained. He then miraculously repaired the drywall. Prior to painting, he removed the exhaust cover and vacuumed the dust from the exhaust, removed the medicine cabinet and taped off the appropriate areas. He pays close attention to detail and is very neat. He made sure I had cleaned the exhaust cover and medicine cabinet before replacing them. A day or two later he painted the walls and ceiling. I was very indecisive about the paint color and chose a different finish than what Michael had recommended, which caused us to lose a day. Michael was very patient and did not charge me an additional fee. I should have listened to his expertise because his original recommendation was the right choice. The previous toilet paper holder had been drilled through tile on the wall. The new holder had different measurements and mounting system. He took his time and thought of a way to configure the new one so that it fit without ruining the existing tile. He also screwed in the new bronze outlet covers I purchased. One of the screws that came with the cover was too long. Michael took the screw from the original one and used a finishing marker to cover the head so that it matched the bronze. It this small attention to detail that impressed me. Michael took pride in everything he did, both large and small. He is very clean, detail oriented, educates you about the process and will exceed your expectations. I highly recommend Michael. You will not be disappointed.

About

I believe in Giving a quality job at a fair price. There are a lot of people out there painting but not everyone can do a superior job. Attention to detail this my specialty.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

  • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
  • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
  • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
  • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
  • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225
