FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My price list varies depending on how far I have to travel.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before classes begin, I like to receive a "journal" and a brief overview to know what the prospective student's ability is. With that, I am able to better prepare myself for the upcoming classes. Once classes begin, the verbal conversations start. If you are a true beginner, no fear, you'll be conversing with me just a few minutes into the classes. If you are experienced in the new language, there is a subject that we'll focus on with each class for you to continue learning and gaining confidence.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Spanish linguistics degree from the University of IL at Chicago. I taught ESL in Guatemala for five years. In Guatemala, I taught in an elementary school, in a college (Universidad Landivar) and for a language academy that specialized in teaching businessmen/women (Universal Language). In the University of Landivar, I was rated as one of the best teachers per the student evaluations. In Universal Language, I was consistently given the highest mark for each evaluation done by the administrations.
