My husband and I own a big handsome boxer named Duncan, who overall is very well mannered. However, he can get obsessive and fixated on strange objects (rocks, basketballs, tennis balls, etc) and also he was very untrustworthy off leash. When we signed up with Jason at Sit Means Sit we were a little skeptical we would ever be able to trust Duncan off leash. We have only been working with Jason for a little while and I am happy to say that Duncan is now off leash all the time! I just took Duncan on a 1 hour off leash walk through downtown cedarburg. He stayed glued to my side past over a dozen dogs (some who were barking and leaping at him), countless people, motorcyclists, bicyclists, cars, etc. I was so proud of him and now we dont worry about him running away---even when he sees a squirrel. We still have some work with his fixations, but we are making progress in this too. We also enjoy Sit Means Sit because the weekly group classes we can attend not only work on things we want, it also gives us new activities/projects to keep Duncan from getting bored with his regular routine.

After unsuccessfully trying a different training method, we came to Jason to help us with our dog, Dobby, who has tons of energy, lots of love (definitely a licker, not a fighter), but was also pretty nervous and had a very hard time paying attention to us. Prior to Sit Means Sit, even walks were a constant struggle and often it was hard to tell who was leading who. The change in Dobby was instant and the “smart dog” we knew existed was almost immediately on display. More impressively, Jason went above and beyond our expectations by teaching us not only how to focus the on the basics, but also address those problem areas (some of which were due to our communication style). Dobby now walks next to us without a leash and even stays by our side during the greatest of distractions (kids, dogs and everything in between). Also, the weekly group classes help a lot to keep fresh the items we’ve learned as well as pick up some new ones. Best of all, we have a well trained dog who has not lost any of his fun loving attitude. Sit Means Sit & Jason are simply the best!

Sit Means Sit has been a really fun experience for Bentley and me. Jason has a superb way of getting your pooch to do anything without saying a word. The puppy training went great. Jason taught us how to curb the Bentley biting and terror time. We just received our training collar and we're already confident that this type of dog training is the right way to go.

Jason worked with our 90 lb boxer/bulldog Moose. Moose really enjoyed working with Jason and we saw behavior improvements after the first lesson. Our trainer was always polite and professional, but best of all he was effective. We now have a dog who has manners and is very obedient.

FAQs

Sit Means Sit North Milwaukee works with all breeds, all temperments and any age. It is never too late for your dog! This is what we are here to fix. While you will learn commands, you will also learn the most important part of dog training - teaching your dog to focus on you through any and every distraction.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

You should always see something before you pay for anything. Make sure the trainer you see will bring their own dogs to show you what they can do. Make sure they also work with your dog before you pay for anything to make sure your training ideals are in line.
