If you are looking to tone up, lose a little weight or maybe you just need some motivation, I can do that. Besides my 7+ years of experience working as a personal trainer, I have a background in molecular biology, psychology, and nursing.

I am also the only personal trainer in this state who is certified through the American College of Sports Medicine/American Cancer Society as a Cancer Exercise Trainer. I am also a registered nurse, BSN.

I have helped many clients over the years reach their individual goals. Along with helping you meet your goals, I do my best to make sure you are having fun while getting in a good butt kicking work out. I will do EVERYTHING I can to help you reach your goals!

    I trained with Jamie for almost a year. Not only was I in the best shape of my life, both endurance and strength wise, but I enjoyed the hour a week I trained with her.     Jamie is an amazing trainer, motivator, and person! She really listens to what you would like to work on and creates great work outs for you.     It's been a few years since Jamie was my trainer, but she definitely left a big impression. She's realistic and understanding. She helped motivate me to improve my fitness and diet. If I didn't live in Chicago now, I would train with her again in a heartbeat. Boy, do I need it.

Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A. Keep in mind, you usually get what you pay for. If you think someone is too expensive, talk to them about pricing. I offer many different workout/program options.

Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?

A. Find someone who you like. You are going to be spending a lot of time with them.
I have met many trainers over the years, like any profession there is always some trainer out there who got some quicky certification that is not accredited trying to "sell" their services. Watch out for these trainers. I have seen some trainers having clients do exercises with horrible form, are completely inappropriate for that person, or just repeat the same work out for every client.
There are also some really amazing trainers out there who really care about their clients. Look for someone who continues to get advanced certifications, continuing education, etc.

Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?

A. My work stands out from others because I look at each client individually to find a program which will help them meet their goals, be fun and challenging, and I'm available 24/7 to all my clients. I also take a more holistic approach to designing programs. I am also always honest with my clients. To top it off, I have experience, education, and passion.

Q. What do you like most about your job?

A. I love to help people in any way I can. Exercise has always been a passion of mine, so being able to use this to help so many different people reach their fitness goals is very rewarding.

Q. What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A. Q-Do you think I can lose x lbs in x amount of time? (Usually it is a lot of weight and a short amount of time)
A-If you work hard and commit to the program I give you you will see great results. It takes time to lose weight, it wasn't gained over night and it cannot be lost over night. I will provide you with any and all valid resources along the way to help reach your goal.

Q. Do you have a favorite story from your work?

A. One of my favorite clients couldn't make it up one flight of stairs when we started. Now she goes up 16 floors everyday, is off her blood pressure medicine, as well ad cholesterol medicine, can lift 3x more weight all around, and feels great!

Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?

A. We might only meet for an hour at a time, but I also spend time when we aren't together working on many things such as: programming, continueing education, research, working with your health care professions if needed, etc. I am also available 24/7 for all my clients.

Q. How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A. A friend asked me why I didn't become a personal trainer because I was always in the gym and helping friends out already.

Q. Do you do any sort of continuing education to stay up on the latest developments in your field?

A. Yes. I read peer reviewed journals and try to take one online class a month. I am also in school for nursing :)
I have my advanced certification from the American College of Sports Medicine and American Cancer Society as a Cancer Exercise Trainer.

Q. What is your greatest strength?

A. My greatest strength ish experience and my patience. I'm good at what I do. I am able to work with healthy and chronically ill populations.
