My Fiancé and I are in the process of purchasing a foreclosure. I hired Michael through Thumbtack out of all the other responses I got because his was the most genuine and sincere. Mike did a great job in making us feel at ease with the home inspection process. During the entire inspection, he treated us like family - no masking issues, no fluff, just factual information with regard to what he was seeing within the home and suggestions for how we might address any issues. He pointed out and helped us see exactly what he was looking at, shared his opinion as far as repairs and/or actions that can be taken to remedy any issues, and helped us understand how various components of a home work in tandem. His inspection covered the entire home - physically inspecting every inch from the cap on the chimney to the farthest depths of the basement. Mike was hands on during that entire inspection - very, very thorough! I am truly appreciative of his professionalism and efficiency in completing the inspection. I describe the inspection process, and review the property condition report. We discuss areas of concern and the expectations for the inspection.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am licensed in the State of Wisconsin as a Home Inspector- License # 2748-106. I learn something new during every inspection, and watch trends in real estate and technology to improve my skills as a home inspector.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
After a long career in law enforcement and in the military, I realized that my true calling is in helping others in a more direct manner, using the skills and experience learned over many years of home remodeling and renovation. Service to others has always been a passion of mine, and Home Inspection is truly a service career.
