FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing varies: in small group classes the rate is around $25 for a 60-75 minute class and includes a ton of resources + 1-2 online novels we read together, and it's $50 per hour for one-on-one work. I am willing to negotiate with eager learners, however!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to talk to the person to see what their expectations are. I have four differently-leveled classes so I send each new student a simple assessment to determine which level would best suit them. They are free to sit in on a different class and move up/down if they like.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's in Spanish and ESL Education as well as an Master of Arts in Education. I'm trained in a variety of approaches and align myself most with "Comprehensible Input," first invented by Stephen Krashen. This approach tries to mimic the ways we learned our first language through story-telling and a lot of "teacher talk." Students are exposed to language in context visually and auditorily; grammar is learned through stories, as naturally as possible, and in context.
