I feel so fortunate to have found Susie on thumbtack! She is open, honest, compassionate, and an expert at what she does. She was able to pinpoint behaviors of our puppy that we may have never truly understood without her, and tailored the training to our puppy's needs. We can't wait for our next session!
We are extremely satisfied with Carolyn! We revied many people and we received many responses but somrthing about Carolyn's approach really made us want to work with her! She's patient, on time and flexible with our schedule. We have a unique situation at our home having two dogs that decided one day they were not going to get along. Our one dog (who is very stranger aggressive) LOVES Carolyn and laid down next to her even on the first day, which is huge for her. Through our training interactions we learned how much our pitty LOVES training and how our other dog needs our help with training to increase her confidence. We will continue working with her and are extremely happy with our choice!
I hired Kim to help me train my young puppy whom I'd already somewhat spoiled. I was looking for help with puppy biting and jumping, setting rules and making him understand them and sticking to obedience training, which I find sorta boring. Kim was working the second she stepped through my door, showing me how to deal with the jumping and explaining my dog's body signals to me. She was funny and interesting to work with, not only told me what to do but WHY it works and went a step beyond what I'd gotten from trainers in dog class as far as connecting the pieces for me. She demoed every trick and technique she was showing me and made me feel like I can easily incorporate her tips into our daily life. I am very excited that I now have a more interesting approach to training my pup. I was a bit overwhelmed by all the information at the end of our time together and I think Kim could tell because she summed up what things I will need to work on with him. She gave me a clear plan of when I'd hear from her next so we could discuss challenges and progress and gave me options for working for her in the future if I chose to. I am definitely going to work with Kim again to see if I can improve the relationship between my dog and my boyfriend's dog and teach my pup how to nicely walk on a loose leash.

I would highly recommend using this service if you would like help training your dog. The trainer is awesome and made the experience fun for both our puppy and us. We learned so much and feel like it was just what we needed to get us off to a good start.
Here is a little history, we adopted a tree walker coonhound from a shelter in Tennessee and brought him home to Wisconsin. The first month was ok as we all got adjusted to each other. There were counter surfing, mouthing and dominance issues from the beginning. We knew we had a stubborn ALPHA, ALPHA male but we were working through it. The dog and I had an altercation over a rawhide where he became very aggressive and tried to bite me. From that day forward he would try to attack me unsolicited any time he saw me or heard my voice. It got so bad I would have to lock myself in a room so my wife could let him out. I am 6',1" tall and 220 lbs, this is the first time in my life with all the dogs I've owned that I was afraid of a dog. We talked to many behaviorist's whom all said we should just rehome the dog and had no answers for us. I was determined not to give up and make things work because I knew that this was a good dog deep down inside. That is when I was recommend to Shelly at "Hair of the dog that bit ya". I got a great feeling from her right away on the phone and was intrigued by her explanation of how she handles her training of dogs (it was a much different approach from what I was hearing from everyone else). This is a large breed hunting dog who is aggressive and she knew exactly how to handle it. She came out the very next morning to a situation where everyone in the house was uneasy and afraid of this dog who now was in total control of the situation. Long story short after two hours Shelly had broken the dog had him taking commands from both my wife and myself. We felt like we had our lives back and believe it or not the dog seemed happier that he now knew the pecking order. This was truly a Christmas miracle for my entire family. The picture attached is from the same day where that morning my dog wanted to kill me and what he was like by the afternoon! I cannot thank Shelly enough and I am so excited for our new life together with Bohannon. Todd & Shelly Bloom
Before we met Anna, my wife and I were ready to surrender our dog Zoey to the Washington County Humane Society. Zoey destroyed many things in our home to include bedsheets, comforters, sofa cushions, draperies, shoes, shirts, a recliner, four leashes and three pet harnesses, and that's not the complete list. Zoey was unable to walk with anything other then a 15' cable. She exhibited intense stress, fear, and anxiety. It was so bad that she would pull, tug, and bite on my carhartt jacket. ( thanks for making such a durable jacket carhartt! Lol). It was literally a tug a war every time we tried to take her out for exercise. Anna, discovered, and taught us so many valuable things about Zoey's condition that we were able to come up with a plan of how to work with in Zoey's comfort levels and now Zoey walks with a leash not a cable! She walks right next to my leg with plenty of slack in the leash, she does not exhibit any signs of anxiety anymore. I believe It is realistic to say Anna saved Zoey, not only from going back to the humane society but due to Anna's experience, education, and knowledge with dog psychology, dog behavior, and her understanding of the breeds; how they act and react in social situations, all this gave Zoey a better more calm and fulfilling life. I call Anna the "Saint of Dogs", and I think she has earned this title in the way she genuinely cares for and about animals and how they interact and coexist with humans. I strongly recommend Anna to everyone in need of dog obedience training and behavior modification training for their four legged friends. Sincerely, James & Aly Krieser
I couldn't say enough great things about Emily and her care and compassion for my animals. Leo, my newfoundland pup, adores her and is a much better behaved boy once I get home from work. I am pleased with everything she's done for my animals and myself! Go Emily!!!
Have not experienced Carols expertise on dog training yet, but thumbtack app wants me to rate anyways. Carol has gone out of her way to contact me for a phone converstion and has been very patient w my unavailabilty. As for thumbtacts rating i would say 3 stars which a 5 star waiting for the app to allow u to schedule these appointments threw the app making all the phone calls a unnessacary step. Hope to see u soon ped pet dog training !
Sarah has helped our family tremendously with training our puppy Topaz. Sarah has always had great ideas for our personal puppy issues, including counter surfing and puppy biting. We would definately recommend Sarah to anyone seeking great tools/skills to learn as she not only helps with typical commands but also customizes training to your pup and family. We look forward to another session with Sarah in the springtime. Thank you!!!
Brittany helped us with basic dog training but also tips to reduce reactivity. She's very personable and fun to work with. Our dog especially looked forward to our training sessions together
In the first year of his life, my Great Dane had worked his way through two dog trainers and five dog walkers. The latest trainer- a certified animal behaviorist, had recommended we put out 9 month old puppy on prozac. My husband and I were against the idea, but decided to have the conversation with our vet. He absolutely refused and then recommended we talk to Kyra. Fast forward two years. Thanks to Kyra (and Comfy K9s) we watched our misunderstood, misbehaved puppy grow into a respectful, loving, well behaved family member. When it comes to training, except to work. Kyra takes her role very seriously. She wont let you fail your dog. The number one thing that separates her from any other trainer, behaviorist, dog walker- I've worked with is her passion. She wants to help and she'll get it done any way it takes. She reads. She studies. She asks questions. The training is customized to your dogs individual needs. And, she truly cares about you and your dog. When everyone gave up on our dog, she was there. Shes reliable. I know I can call her anytime and Comfy K9s will take care of us. (They're actually on my emergency contact list!) Kyra is trustworthy. Shes genuine. She will make your dog shine.
We offer training classes for your dog, from puppy to adult. We've been training people and their dogs since 1946. I am a former army instructor.
I would love to help assist fellow dog owners to bridge that gap between master and pack member at an affordable price. To own and care for a dog is already expensive enough, so paying for a professional trainer is often discouraging and can lead to many outcomes including negative behavior in both dog and human, neglect, abandonment, stress in both dog and human etc. My goal is to eliminate anything blocking the natural connection between you and your canine companion.
I offer in home training solutions for a happy and well balanced k-9 companion. I use a variety of methods to match the training to the dog for positive results.
I treat my clients pets as though there a part of my family
