Before working with Coppelia, my newly wife and I had no rhythm in the way we were dancing. After our sessions we were in sync and learned the most valuable lessons through her dance class. We learned how to work together and have patience and most importantly fun. We are so grateful for this class and will continue to dance for the rest of our lives.Oct 20, 2018

Coppelia has been great. She is patient and makes sure you look right. She makes it fun and the time flies by before you know it. I will take more lessons from her and refer her to everyone.Aug 5, 2017Verified
Allowed me to learn at my pace. Did not push me beyond my dance and movement experience. Excellent teacher.Jul 4, 2017Verified
After 44 year's of marriage we decided that it was time to learn how to really dance. Coppelia was the perfect choice. She is talented, patient and encouraging. Best of all she listens to you and adjusts according to your needs. We will be returning soon for more lessons and fun.Sep 16, 2016Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I enjoy getting to know my student in the first session. We will determine their goals in dance, be it stress relief and exercise, developing a fun, new hobby, getting ready for a special event, or taking their dancing to a higher level. We will also determine with which dance or dances to begin their dance journey.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Dancing has always been my passion and I began dancing as a child. My first teacher was my grandmother from the South of Spain, who taught me Flamenco. From there I went on to study many forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, hip hop and I even studied Flamenco in Spain. However, I discovered my first love when I began dancing Ballroom over 20 years ago. Being that I am from Havana, Cuba, it was a natural fit. Since then, I have trained with some of the best in Dance Sport. I also enjoy competing and have placed in many Ballroom dance competitions. I am a personal trainer with The National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as a former co owner of a gym. In addition, I worked in the healthcare industry for 15 years as a Registered Pharmacist. This gives me a unique perspective on movement and the body as a whole, that allows me to better serve my students.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?I helped to organize a Ballroom/Latin Dance Showcase called "Dare to Dance." We brought dancers of all ages, sizes and experience together to perform in this event. It was very rewarding to help co ordinate this event and to see newcomers to Ballroom daring step out of their comfort zone and dance.
