I last minute ended up going on vacation by myself. This was a first for me and I was really nervous. I used the app Thumbtack and a woman by the name of Jenny Lehman from Vacation Fixation found me and reached out with a quote. I ended up going with her as she had the best prices for what I was looking for. Big mistake. I said I was looking for somewhere in Mexico on the beach, preferably adults only that had great food and everything in close proximity . When I arrive at my destination I am shell shocked. The resort is not on the beach. In fact, NOTHING is in walking distance at this place. It is surrounded by trees and very isolated. You have to take a trolley to get to anywhere. I was very much out of my element. This wouldn't have been so much an issue if I wasn't traveling solo, for the first time mind you, but I was. She knew my situation and how nervous I was but she made me feel very comfortable that this was a great place for someone such as myself. Let me tell you, this was NOT the place for someone traveling by themselves. I cried the moment I got there. I reached out to my travel agent with my distress and all she did was remind me how others who have visited the resort loved it. That as I'm sure you can imagine didn't make things any easier for me. She never picked up a phone to call me and see what she could do to make my stay better. She could've cared less. Instead, she sends me an email trying to sell me other places that may better suit my needs if I ever decide to vacation again through her. Seriously??? I ended up explaining my situation to the concierge at the hotel and THEY WERE AMAZING. They made my stay wonderful. Went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and even took me around in their own private vehicle to show me where everything was and even called me daily during my stay to see if there was anything I needed. This was the exceptional service I wish I had seen from my travel agent. The day before I'm about to leave I needed to figure out the time my shuttle was going to be picking my up to bring me to the airport. Jenny never gave a number that the hotel was able to use to reach out to the shuttle service and after a half hour of the hotel trying to gather the information needed, I decide to email Jenny again as the information she provided me was inaccurate. All she sends me is the same phone number I was given the first time. Long story short, one of the bell men was friends with one of the shuttle drivers through the service I was using and made a call out to him. Within 5 mins I knew the drivers name, time he was coming, and even what kind of car he would be driving. Again horrible service when it came to my travel agent. Why didn't she call the hotel directly to sort this out for me? Why didn't she try calling me? Why didn't she reach out to the shuttle service? Jenny Lehman was a disappointment and a horrible travel agent. Her lack of knowledge in the travel business showed she hasn't been doing this for very long and I was her guinea pig. I won't be using her services again.

Lynne, I am very sorry you were unhappy with your trip. I did my best to find you a 6 golden star resort including flight within your $900 budget. And I found an amazing resort! Before booking, I clearly stated the resort was not right on the beach and you still chose it, knowing this fact. I provided a resort map, the room type you would have, a description of all the restaurants and sent all of your transfer vouchers, times and itineraries. I answered all of your questions immediately even in the the middle of the night. I wanted you to have an amazing vacation! I spent hours making sure you were secure with the type of trip and resort it would be. Being your first time in Mexico, I personally cared about your well being and went out of my way to make sure you enjoyed every aspect! When you arrived at the resort and found you weren't able to order five entrees for a single traveler plus accompaniments through room service, I contacted the concierge immediately to rectify the situation. They told me they would make sure the rest of the trip was amazing. And I'm so glad the rest of your trip was wonderful! I enjoyed checking up on you daily to make sure the rest of the trip went smoothly. I'm glad you made it home safely and enjoyed your resort. I would gladly book anyone else here because of the amazing food, service and rooms!
