- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I approach playing music from a calisthenics standpoint for beginners. The most important thing for playing guitar and/or bass is listening to your body. I treat good technique and habits as the foundation for beginner players. What I've found is that a lot of people who are self-taught develop bad or even harmful habits which make it difficult for them to progress as musicians. Which they internalize as being "a bad musician" when in actuality, they unfortunately didn't have a proper understanding of how their body responds.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a private and classroom instructor for over 10 years in Alexandria, VA through Alexandria Music Company in Belle View, ParkTakes through Fairfax County, and Little Theatre of Alexandria in Old Town, Alexandria. I was an undergraduate Music Theory student through Northern Virginia Community College. I have a extensive list of references ranging from current and former students, other instructors, and even professors.
