FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
60-minute 1-on-1 training sessions start at $60 per session for 1 session per week. The more sessions per week and/or the more clients per session, the lower the rate. The same goes for 30-minute sessions, but the rate starts at $35 per 30-minute session for 1 session per week.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, there is a "client discovery" session, which can be a phone conversation, an in-person meeting, or introductory training session. While a lot of ground may be covered during that session, the two most important things are: 1) Does the client feel I'm a good fit for them? 2) Do I feel they're a good fit for me? Communication and trust are essential to any healthy relationship and the client-trainer dynamic is no different. I don't know everything about health and fitness and don't pretend to. If I feel that a prospective client might have a greater chance for success by starting in a different place (another trainer with different skill, a professional in a different area of health and fitness, etc.) I'll gladly introduce that suggestion. For clients that do decide to move forward with professional fitness coaching, during our first training session, I design a series of assessments that test movement patterns, joint range of motion, muscular strength, joint stability, and core strength. No matter what the goal or set of goals are, a better understanding of the strengths and weakness in these areas lead to better, more specific and efficient program design for the client. This means a higher rate of success for each client.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
While I do have a 4-year degree from a major university, my education and/or training professional fitness specialist began by acquiring personal training certifications through NSCA and NASM. Beginning in 2003, I spent 7 years personal training and managing at a national big box 24hr fitness facility in Virginia and Georgia. I also spent 5 years working at a small up and coming boutique fitness studio in Atlanta. In 2010 I began meeting with clients in a more personal setting, outside of a major gym environment. Over the years, I've created individual and group programs from the ground up, worked with leading edge metabolic testing technology and designed heart rate monitor based heart rate training cardio workouts.
