FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is really case by case. I can give a ballpark estimate by the amount of source material and the intended length of the final product. A conversation is needed to get a very clear understanding of the goal and expectation of the final product. I can complete really short editing projects in the $200-$300 range, 5-7 minute projects in the $400-$800 range, and projects with an extensive amount of footage to go through can start at $1,000 and up.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like communication with my clients to review source material together and discuss their goals and expectations. This is an opportunity to point out any lighting or audio problems with the footage. I also like to discuss the audience and the call to action, what the client expects the viewer to do after watching their video. I like to explore examples from other videos, commercials and even movies to get cool ideas. Once we agree on the approach and delivery deadline I begin the actual editing process. I upload a rough draft online. We discuss changes and then I deliver the final product.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my undergraduate degree in film from Georgia State University. I went on to graduate school and received my MFA in film from Temple University. I was a film professor for nine years. I taught film and video production classes including scriptwriting, camera, lights, audio, and video editing using Final Cut Pro and Premier Pro.
