Introduction: Reiki is a natural and safe way to achieve energetic healing from the inside out. It addresses the body on all levels physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The word Reiki ( pronounced Ray - Key) means universal life energy and it's available to everyone, no matter the age or body condition. Even animals are responsive to Reiki. Reiki is: Gentle - Reiki is a gentle and safe technique Harmless - Reiki produces positive results, whether it's a state of deep relaxation and wellbeing or you have a major healing break thru. Natural - No equipment or tools needed other than the Reiki Practitioner, who places their hands gently on the body or just above it. I’ve been a Reiki practitioner for over a decade now and it is one of the most fulfilling forms of service I provide. I am grateful to be a conduit for such positive reinforcement in peoples lives. Standard Reiki Session- Quite naturally sessions will vary from person to person. However, the feeling of deep relaxation are usually felt by everyone. At the end of the treatment, you generally feel refreshed, connected and balanced if nothing else. In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The client is usually laying on a massage table but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The client remains fully clothed. The practitioner places their hands on or near the clients body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the clients needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. The whole treatment usually lasts between 45 and 90 minutes.
