Mr. Bernard is always a professional and incredibly talented! Coming from a vocal background, I have studied music in my past. However, starting the violin was a whole new world of theory and skill development for me. To say that Mr. Bernard has been patient with me is an extreme understatement, but despite how much I feel like I am struggling, it's amazing how quickly I have advanced under his teachings. I also love the fact that Mr. Bernard can recognize even the smallest accomplishment, because to me they are huge steps for me and his praise is what keeps me motivated. I am so lucky to have found Mr. Bernard. Mr Bernard, you may not be my first violin teacher, but are definitely my last. LOL Thank you for everything!!!

BJ is an excellent Violin teaching who is very capable of motivating a beginner while accomplished for addressing the finer points for the more advanced student! He gently instructs and can push when necessary so that you make real progress in the art of playing the violin! As a self conscious adult he has ways of encouraging while not intimidating or embassassing! I am now playing in two orchestras and love playing thanks to BJ! I would recommend him to anybody wanting to explore playing the violin! His love of music is reflected in his enthusiasm for teaching!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am available for 30, 45, or 60+ minutes...there are no other fees, you will only need to keep up with supplies (music, rosin, strings... Etc) Everyone is welcome and I am willing to work with all schedules and payment methods.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to see what experience the student might have and get them started on a routine right away. I start all of my students with the Suzuki method and add various supplements along the way to cater to their specific needs. I can discover what the student needs to focus on the most at that moment to get to the next level as well as prep for auditions and festivals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my degree in both music education and performance from the S.U.N.Y. Potsdam Crane School of Music in New York. I currently play professionally with several musical groups for theater and opera as well as symphony orchestras and chamber groups in New York, Orlando, Atlanta and Chattanooga.
