Introduction: I'm a native Japanese language tutor/author with over 15 years of experience in translation and teaching conversational Japanese. My method is very unique and focused on conversation with the correct pronunciation, which is very different from majority of the textbooks out there. I've published my own textbook called Japanese For Dogs 1 on Amazon in 2016 to teach all of my lessons for beginners. It is now distributed world wide. I enjoy connecting with people on a personal level. It never ceases to amaze me when my students start to form their own sentences, who knew nothing about the language. Some of my students started out that way and moved on to being fully fluent and now working for Japanese companies in Japan in less than 2 years. That is a miraculous process to witness and also exciting to be a part of.

I strongly recommend Japanese lessons with Kazki if you are serious about learning the language. Kazki is a native speaker who wrote his own book that he uses for his lessons. The key difference is that he focuses on developing the right pronunciation. This may not seem like a big deal at first, but it makes a world of difference if you actually go to Japan and try ordering or asking for things. I go to Japan twice a year, so I directly experienced the benefits of his approach. Also, I work with a lot of foreign people and I can see the long-term trajectory of bad "habits". Some of these people have a rich vocabulary and a good understanding of the grammar, but they can be very hard to understand because of their accent. Don't be one of those people! Once you learn things the wrong way, it will be very difficult to correct them. If you are planning to invest your time into learning Japanese, then why not to take lessons from a native speaker with years of experience teaching foreign people Japanese? I recently went to Japan after taking lessons for 6 months, I definitely enjoyed my trip a lot more, as I was able to understand things and I was also able to communicate when it mattered.

I have been studying with Kazki for almost 2 years now. He is a very energetic and personable teacher. You can tell he enjoys teaching and he enjoys his students. At beginning levels, lessons start out with a fairly set lesson plan, but he will spend extra time on tricky or confusing material, based on the individual need. Once a higher level of proficiency is achieved, lessons become a bit more free form, and personally tailored towards the individual, focusing heavily on the areas you can most improve in. He tends to focus on repetition and sentence structure, rather than memorization. "If you can understand how the sentence is laid out, the vocabulary will come later."

This is a good resource for learning Japanese. It covers a lot of basic and some moderate level materials, and has an easy to understand format. In my opinion, nothing can replace having an actual teacher to guide you, but this book will help solidify your foundation, and it has a large vocabulary section with common words and phrases that is incredibly useful

If you are really serious about Japanese this is a great option to learn from a native speaker. His method and textbook (he write it) really helps improve your level in just a few months, you can learn Japanese grammar without feeling overwhelmed and a big plus is he teaches a natural sound accent for everyday situations, current words and good pronunciation. I would seriously recommend Sensei Watanabe is very good at explaining concepts, kanji, vocabulary and makes course easy, fun and enjoyable.

Kazki is flexible, understanding, fun, and adapts to all learning styles. Plus, he's overall a pleasure to study with. I could not recommend him more highly. I work a busy job, have tons of outside stressors, and there's nothing that would make me want to quit! Worth every penny. Seriously.
