Introduction: I have experience touring with Lady Gaga, Willie Nelson, Blues Traveler, and many more. I can play and teach every genre of violin and guitar, and piano, and I customize my teaching methods to the needs/desires of each individual student. Ruby Jane has worked with my eight year old daughter for two years now on violin, guitar and voice and I could not recommend her more highly. Her talent as a musician speaks for itself, (if you have not yet seen Ruby and the Reckless live, you should check out her schedule right now) but it translates into her teaching. Her love for music is contagious and her passion for passing on that love of music is apparent. She inspires my daughter daily and they have the best rapport. Ruby Jane is her hero!

Ruby Jane is the gold standard. I am shocked sometimes that she is still able to provide private lessons with her schedule. Trust me when I say that you will not regret taking lessons from Ruby Jane, whether you are a novice or a seasoned player. Truth be told I pinched myself on a few occasions that I was actually learning from this super star. Not only is she a fiddle prodigy but she is a supremely amazing human being. Go for it. You will be better for it.

Ruby Jane has been teaching my son how to play the guitar for a few years now and he loves her! We love her and will miss her very much when she goes to LA! She is very talented, kind, creative, hard working and she really cares about helping and encouraging my son. He is an awesome guitar player (in my biased opinion) and I think he is where he is today b/c of Ruby Jane! Highly recommend!

Ruby Jane is a fabulous music teacher. She connects with my kids ages 10 and 13 and makes their piano lessons and practicing fun. My kids love getting to choose a song to play and then they are being challenged by one Ruby Jane chooses. It makes them want to practice! Would highly recommend!!!

Austin’s loss is LA’s gain. Ruby Jane is a gifted teacher who is wonderful at engaging kids in an honest & authentic way. We very much like her approach & her encouragement for even young learners to select their own songs to learn outside of the classical cannon.

I charge $45 for 30 minutes, $60 for 45 minutes, and $75 for an hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I take the first part of the lesson to get to know you, your musical history, and your musical preferences. I also like to get to know what each student wants to learn and focus on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 20 years of training, I started in classical, and then moved to old time fiddle, swing, country, jazz/improvisation, pop, and rock. I have trained under many professional and prestigious violinists over the last 20 years, including Mark O'Connor, Daniel Carwile, Casey Driessen, and more.
