Introduction: Are you struggling learning the math? Are you a parent of a struggling math student. It can be really frustrating. Maybe you are looking to work ahead in math. Do you want to raise your SAT Math score? That's where I can help you out. I have 29 years experience teaching math at high school and community college. I worked with so many different students that I know You CAN learn the math. I tutor math online. Online tutoring is very efficient because there is no traveling time required. I love teaching. My son was doing horribly in math. He had no confidence about how to work the problems and would get so nervous it would just cause further issues. After working with Portland Math his confidence has improved and he has gone from an F to a C (in a month!) and it just keeps getting better! Being able to tutor online has been a great experience and I highly recommend Portland Math.

We have been so pleased with our tutoring. My daughter has become more confident. I like how the tutoring can be changed to a different way of explaining so my daughter can understand a difficult concept.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I schedule tutoring sessions for one hour typically, but could do half hour if necessary. All you need is a laptop. We will use ZOOM to see each other and a shared whiteboard that we can both write on called BitPaper. Please note that because I am an Oregon Licensed teacher with a master's degree, my rates do reflect that. However, my 29 years experience means I have worked with so many students, that I can quickly come up with a game plan on how your student will learn best.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Online tutoring is available. This is a nice option because you just need a computer and there is NO traveling for either of us.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught math for 29 years, 19 years in high school and 10 years at Portland Community College. I have taught every single math class from general math, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Calculus and AP Calculus. I have also tutored students since I was going to college.
