Introduction: In addition to being a voice teacher, I have been an original songwriter, live performer (vocals, guitar, mandolin, keys, flute), and recording artist since 1997. I am not just an academic! I combine real-world experience making contemporary music with a formal music education (Berklee alum), and the result is a unique experience with a truly passionate teacher who is focused on you. I love singing and teaching others to improve their vocal skills so they can know freedom of expression of the soul. I embrace the challenge of adapting to each student's needs. I take an active interest in voice science, regularly attending seminars, conferences, and expos, as well as seeking more info on voice in an ongoing attempt to further my own professional development.

Ajda is a phenomenally talented and inspirational voice instructor! I was an absolute beginner who enjoyed singing and wanted to improve my technique so I could feel confident writing songs and performing in front of others. Working with her has increased my confidence and helped me feel comfortable working with my own voice. I now have a greater awareness of the physiological aspects of singing, breath control, better pitch, and stamina. Ajda is open-minded and very responsive to your personal goals. She can offer guidance within a broad range of vocal styles and individualizes instruction to help each student develop in ways that are important to their own practice. Her lessons offer many useful technical exercises including warm-ups, breath control and articulation exercises, scales, exploring style and dynamics, transposing songs, and anatomy/physiology. Aside from the technical aspects of her teaching, Ajda is an inspiring teacher who always provides encouragement and support alongside constructive feedback. She pushes her students to not only be better vocalists, but better performers as well. She continues to enrich herself as an instructor and brings new knowledge to her lessons. I highly recommend Ajda as a teacher for any vocalist looking to improve their practice!

I came to Ajda a few years ago, when I started a gender transition. I'd been a singer most of my life, but had fallen out of practice for nearly a decade, and reclaiming my voice was incredibly important to me. It can be difficult to find vocal instructors who understand the needs of a trans singer, but Adja wasn't fazed. She helped me not only find strength in my voice again, but helped me expand my upper range a few steps. Ajda is always bringing new techniques to lessons and encouraging me to expand my horizons musically. I feel like she has a strong eye toward a singer's holistic health and performance. She's consistenly able to identify areas where I struggle and offer a new way of approaching the situation to help me overcome those obstacles. We not only cover vocal technique, but work toward my personal goals - stage presence, leading a band, and finding a space as a performer in Boston. I'm ecstatic to work with her.

It's funny to think now how this fulfilling exploration started on a whim to see what taking lessons with the frontwoman for one of my favorite local bands was really like. I am primarily a visual artist, but Ajda has helped me develop a sense of myself as a musician with her patience, enthusiasm and dedication to her craft. Ajda encourages a balanced diet of practice and analytical cross training, and pushes students firmly yet with respect. Each lesson I have taken with her has been carefully tailored to suit my abilities and needs. Challenges are tackled with kind encouragement and difficult material is met with curious enthusiasm. Ajda truly displays the patience and flexibility I expect from a top-notch instructor. Thorough lesson plans, good pacing. After about 6 lessons I can hear that my voice is much stronger and singing feels much better. She has been insight full in describing technique and helping me build my voice.

Ajda has undoubtedly helped me to reconnect to my voice. While I expected for Ajda to assist me with vocal technique (since she came so highly recommended), I did not expect to find such tranquility, confidence and support during her coaching sessions. Ajda is patient, professional, organized, supportive and skillful. She clearly has a mastery of her craft that she passes on to her students with lots of care and enthusiasm.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began teaching after many people who were familiar with my live and recorded work as a vocalist/multi-instrumentalist suggested I begin teaching.
