Introduction: Max is a 20-year-old drummer and composer born and raised in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. He has been playing and teaching drums for over 10 years in addition to composing music for documentaries and short films and working as a producer at his studio. His performance experience spans a range of many shows and venues, including The Fox Theatre in Boulder and All-State Orchestra in Fort Collins. Max attended Berklee College of Music to study drum set performance and film scoring. Max is adept in all styles of drumming, including jazz, orchestral snare, metal, funk, and Brazilian percussion. He is happy to work with students of any age or level. He is always excited to teach music and loves helping others improve. Currently, he works in the Boulder area as a music teacher, a studio drummer, a film composer, and a music producer. Whether I'm producing a song for an artist, recording studio drums, or teaching a student music theory, I always enjoy working with others on their music.

we recorded two full songs with a ton of tracks. We finished up the songs after two sessions and it was pretty quick and painless! He always took my ideas into consideration and was able to make quick fixes

A while ago, I asked Max whether he would teach me music theory, in particular chords. I have so far had four lessons and find that Max is a very patient, encouraging and knowledgeable teacher. He studied music theory in depth at Berklee. Since he has truly worked with this material, he is very good at pointing out the patterns, any exceptions to the rules, as well as little tricks that help me remember them. Because he applies his knowledge to composing his own music, he is also very good at demonstrating how chords work at the piano.
