FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
A good deal of consideration goes into designing a piece of furniture: we have to take into account the client's practical needs, taste, budget, logistics, the context of the piece, etc. For this reason it can be difficult to price a job sight unseen. If you have an image of a piece similar to what you have in mind — or of the space into which the intended piece will fit — please send it along with your request.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We typically begin with an image supplied by the client, be it a sketch, a photo of an existing piece or of the space where the piece will stand. It could also be a simple description of the need and a set of measurements. Depending on the complexity of the job, we will create one or several design drawings and submit it to the client for review. If the drawings are approved we will draft an estimate. And once that's approved we will get to work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been making furniture for over a decade. First it was something like a hobby, and then it took over my life. I have worked directly with clients on commission pieces for the past 5 years.
