Introduction: I am an actor and acting coach living in New York City. I have worked over the last seven years on stage, both in NYC and regionally, as well as in television and film, working with talent such as Hugh Grant, Donnie Wahlberg, and Beau Willimon. I hold an MFA from Yale School of Drama, a BFA from UC Santa Barbara, and have studied with on-camera experts such as Bob Krakower, Jessica Cummings, and Marci Philips. As a coach, I work with individuals and productions, on stage and film, and specializes in dialect management for actors and on camera auditions. After spending six years in conservatory training programs and an additional seven years practicing my craft and continuing to expand upon my knowledge of the business, I love nothing more than sharing that wisdom with other artists. I have a passion for guiding and inspiring actors, helping them reach new depths within their own understanding of a character or scene, and combining my training in the theatre with the detailed complexities of film and television work to fine tune actors' auditions both on stage and in front of the camera.

Shannon is a very gifted acting coach. She helped me book and AMC show from a self-tape, an episode of a half-hour comedy on TV Land and to get a call back to a producer session for a guest starring role on CBS. She gives individual attention and has never coached me by rote. She truly works with the actor in front of her. In the many times I’ve gone to her, she’s taken her time, worked with me until I felt comfortable and confident, and by the end, made it all feel so simple and clear that once I walked through the audition room door I was at ease in my talent, my moment-to-moment work, and the story that the writers needed to see to know that I could do the job. She, quite naturally, helped me to get to the point where I could just bring myself without the worry of what to do or not to do. She also served as my vocal coach on the most recent production I directed and was able to guide the cast to decisions and choices that they were struggling with, creating a decisive and clear line of action with each actor. She works well with individuals and groups. I’d gladly recommend her to any actor with a big audition coming up or to any actor just looking to develop their on-camera acting skill. -Carter Gill

Shannon was a godsend to my production of The Tempest. She illuminated the verse in a way the actors could easily understand and implement, and guided them towards amazing performances. We would have been lost without her!

I can count on Shannon to get the best performance out of me, but also help me keep it fresh. It's comforting to have a coach who understands the technicalities of being in front of the camera, as well as what's needed from behind the camera

Auditioning is awkward and terrible. Except when I work with Shannon Sullivan. The process is still awkward and terrible but thanks to Shannon I walk into the room feeling prepared and ready to do my best work. And sometimes I book! She is one of the best coaches working in NY. Not only does she make my work clearer, funnier and stronger but she takes who I am and helps me to shine more luminously. She is good, she is smart and coaching with her is a f*&%ing bargain!
